None of the Third Party options or my custom-made .user files are showing up in Configure. All the files are in the correct Data folder; it's as if HL is not reading that folder...

Any suggestions? When I click on the Diagnostics option under Tools it lists all my custom files...
If no .user file is loading it means you are getting errors when you load Pathfinder. Once that happens HL has loaded in safe mode and will NOT load any .user files.

When you see the initial error right click and copy the error message. Then paste it here for us to look at.
 
ok just removed the Rite Publishing's 101 Alternate racial traits and that fixed it now anyone know how to replace it?
I am really sorry I don't know where you got the files from. But I assume it came with some "pdf" maybe? If so see if you can download it again from Paizo or RPGnow or where ever you got it.
 
HL 5.3 to 6.1a Duplicate record encountered in ShadowChemosh adjustments

I have jumped from HL 5.3 #449 to 6.1a #470 and my wonderful ShadowChemosh adjustments fail to load with my characters. Woe is me!

The first error dialog states:

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

but this may be related to the first error.

I found this in another thread, will try it for my ShadowChemosh pack:

1) Start HL and press OK through the error message.
2) Go to Tools menu within Hero Lab and choose Explore Folders->Program Data Folder.
3) In the new Windows Explorer window look for all the [PFRPG_Adjustments_Selectors].* files and select them ALL and delete them.
4) Back in HL top right corner click on "View Updates". And download and install [pack] again.
5) Close down HL and restart.

Fix above got rid of the Duplicate errors, now I only get:

What community packages and what version do you have loaded? Tools->Manage Third Party Update

Sense you did such a large jump for HL my guess is you are way behind on all the community packages. Make sure you update the ones you have to the latest versions.

I updated the CBP again.

I deleted the Gaming Addon, reinstalled, got the duplicates error message again, ran through the procedure above (including a reinstall) and all is working fine again, no errors.

Thanks for making this Gaming Addon, it is brilliant.

Data File Authoring
-Removed the MindBlade.Weapon tag as it has been deprecated and removed from Mind Blade weapons. To find the current mind blade instead use the tag IsWeapon.MindBlade.
-Moved Mind Blade "Weapon, Magic" scripts into proceadures so that the logic only needs to be done once. This will make adding future mind blades easier.
-Removed the fCategory.PUPsionic tag as it has been deprecated. Use the fCategory.Psionic tag instead.
-The Mind Blade selectors have been changed to allow for an increased number of Mind Blade types. See the Soul Archer PrC or Mind Daggers blade skill for an example.
-Added new procedure "PUPreReqs" which should be used for all Custom Abilities level checking. See "Deadly Blow" for an example.

Yep all true as github has a nice bug tracking software that has been helping me not forget. :)

But I will still have no issues if it shows up here and I will just repost to GitHub. Also some people email and others only PM. Plus a few from paizo even PM on that fourm. So sort of use to getting it from multiple locations.
 
So something that came up today. I have a player that is using the Dread class from Ultimate Psionics and has chosen the Touch of Terror feat. The feat gives a drop down with no options and doesn't modify the Devastating Touch damage.

Touch of Terror said:
Benefit: Your devastating touch ability deals 1d6 points of damage plus your class level and your Charisma modifier.

Normal: Devastating touch deals 1d6 points of damage plus your class level.

Now opening the editor and looking at the feat it appears that it wants you to select a natural weapon to apply the feat to. I am figuring this is just an unfinished feature where the Devastating Touch is considered a natural attack that you choose, but hasn't been implemented to appear as a natural attack within Hero Labs.
 
Wrath of the Righteous warnings

I'm really not sure how seriously to take this and would like some guidance if you have a sec. We're playing Wrath of the Righteous and I'm trying to use portfolios from the community (because they are very helpful). However, in doing so, I'm sometimes getting weird errors about orphans and missing stuff. Here's a copy of the messages when trying to load a Brimorak demon from the second AP Sword of Valor:

Can I make a request/suggestion here?

For the ShadowChemosh adjustments package, the "Hero, Ability score increase" adjustment, can it be altered to accept a negative number, so that it can be used to decrease the number of ability score increases available? Is there a reason this would not be wise that I'm just not seeing?

Most likely cause I never thought about anyone wanting to take away the increases so simply didn't code for it. The original requests where always to duplicate 4e design which was to get two ability score increases at level 4, 8, etc...

I will take a look at adding this for next release. Well that was really easy so its done and will be in the next release.

Though I so want to make a much better version of this adjustment. Just not happening anytime soon. ;)

I wish their was an easy way to tell what packages are required or not. So what HL is trying to tell you is that you are missing the book "Book of Damned 2: Lords of Chaos". The Brimorak was officially stated up in that by LW so the community didn't re-create it. So you need HL Package "Pathfinder RPG Campaign Setting #5".
 
SC, is there any adjustment that I can use to give a character a subtype?
Not current no as each and every subtype would have to be bootstrapped to the adjustment. I will add to the to-do list to see if I can find an easy way to handle this as each monster book keeps adding new types.
