@MrNathann that is a information window saying that the only required Package is CORE which you should have with the base license of HL. The installer can't actually check which packages you have installed so I do it in read to get peoples attention to make sure they have the right packages.

@Kerflop the first message you have their seems to indicate that you are missing one of the Bestiary Packages. I don't remember which one off the top of my head.

My guess is then the 2nd message is coming when you try and OPEN a .por file then. But once you got the first message HL has gone into safe mode and no user file is loaded.

Are you sure you have all the required packages? Did you restart HL after you purchased them to activate the license/package?

Sorry for the multiple post, I am no longer having issue #1, I wasn't loading the requisite packages. :) That was me not understanding how HL works. The second one is one that I am still getting. I get the message as HL is loading but prior it it displaying the PF skin (backgroung is blue). Here is an image of the error...

IDK, maybe the old PFRPG_Modern_Future.user file? It had Mutant data in it, but IDK if the errors are from that or not. But see if you even have the file and if so, delete it. It will be here along with all the other user files. If it's not the old PFRPG_Modern_Future.user, it's another user file somewhere in that folder.

No problem on multiple posts. Lets try the simple approach first. Restart HL and at the first selection window click "Find Updates" bottom right corner. And select the Community Bestiary and download it again. When it says its going to over write the existing file say yes. Do the install one more time and see if the message still happens.

That is very strange as it looks like some of the files did not fully install. I am not seeing why it would be missing the special Abilities.

Okay, that worked perfectly. Thanks so much... Just one more issue and that is not all of the characters are available when trying to import them... For example Karzoug... First image is when I select RotRl #6 from the import menu. It gives me a list of all the NPCs, but as you can see Karzoup is greyed out and it says that it is missing sources!

If I select to load it, even though it is missing sources, I get this popup error. But, it still loads in the background.

Due to size requirements not every single .por file is in the stock files. So to get full list of the NPCs and encounter download the .zip files from d20pfsrd. Your looking for AP01 Rise of the Runelords Anniversay (both part one and two).

I swore I had redid all the .stock files so that messages about sources would go away. Well put that on the to-do list for the next release....

So, do you just extract the .por files from the zips to /pathfinder directory? Then what do you do with them? Sorry for the "newb" questions. I was part of the RW Kickstarter, and up till the other day never heard of HL. Now I am hooked and want to incorporate it into my RotRLs home game...

Thanks

No problem at all. Extract the zip files they are broken down into folders for each chapter and I think Events or sections of each book. In example in the first zip file is:
1 - Burnt Offerings
which contains:
Part 1 - Festival and Fire
which contains:
Die, Dog, Die!.por
Goblin Pyros.por
Initial Assault.por

etc...

So if you go to "Portfolio->Import Portfolio" (not near HL but I think that is the name) lets you suck in a .por file just like you would with a stock file. So this way you can suck in a whole encounter into HL and use the Tactical Console.

What I think most people do is keep a .por file that has all the PCs in it. They open that up to start. Then they do the Import Portfolio to pull in the Encounter .por that has say all the Goblins or monsters in it. Then start the Tactical Console and boom you can run that encounter.

Worked perfectly... Now just need another game session to try it out... :)

Thanks so much. There is a lot to learn about this app, you have been a big help.

The Skirmisher archetype replaces the Ranger's spellcasting with a few other pretty neat abilities. Can't recall off-hand which book it's from, but most likely the Advanced Player's Guide.

Its interesting I had purchased the one from KQ via Paizo ($3.99) and i guess its the same one on Chiefweasel's site. But both of them dont have the archtypes listed. I'm a little surprised (not so much about Chiefweasel, but the purchased one). I guess I'll work on the archtypes.

I am having the same issue as Kerflop. I just purchased the 3 bestiaries, and ultimate combat, ultimate magic, ultimate equipment, and one of the other bundles. I made sure the new add ons where installed and working without error. After installing the community beastery and the community player pack. Do I need to add all the other d20pfsrd updates?

I have this class converted to an archetype in my home data set. If I can find some time I can rip it out and update the .user file on weasels site. Lets see if I can find some time soon.

Otherwise it's not hard to do as all the class abilities are done so its pretty much setting the levels on the archetype and figuring out what each Thing replaces.

I was actually talking about the two archetypes at the end if the PDF. The ones that can be applied to the spell less ranger class.

Oh that must be the new version that came out WAY later. The one I coded from was the original KQ#11 magazine entry. Archetypes didn't even exist yet in Pathfinder at that time.

Sorry then what I have won't help.... :(

No thats fine, im jusr surprised that the one that KQ is now selling on Paizo (with archetypes) and with a HL file, doesnt have the archetypes in the file.. cant really complain about a $4.00 sale though..... Again, no big deal. I just have to figure out how to implement the companion archetype.

Let me check. I thought I had included those when I did the files, but it may have been the Shaman I was thinking of....
