d20 Release 1.6 Testing and Intergration...

Busy day, put the finishing touches on a couple things and uploaded a bunch of files to the dropbox (Many of them are empty "erase this" files). Still testing the dracolich template with the new Types and Extra HD system.

Gonna take a Civ 5 break.

Nice!

Couple of small things. Would it be hard not to add the version number on the files? Its just I have to go through and remove all that before adding it to the data set. If its really helpful on your side to have the v1.6 in the file name I guess we can keep it. This also would include anyone trying to create a 1.6 WIP data set would need to change them also before adding so they over write the existing files.

The 2nd thing is the Empty Files need to really be Empty (ie zero KB in size). Though if you have these empty in the actual data set HL will stop due to incorrect size. Which adds an extra step to the data set creation that I hopefully I don't forget. So assume all your 1kb files need to be changed to 0kb then? Guess I can take care of that also but its sort of an FYI. :)

I use Bulk Rename Utility to batch remove from the filenames, it's a lot easier than right click delete.

I've been testing the V1.6 files after removing all the 1kb duplicates and have been impressed with the lack of conflicts!

So far no bugs to report!:)

So is everyone ready if we freeze this release for testing? I am thinking I will do that this coming Friday(August 5th). So anything not in DropBox by that time will not be put into 1.6.

Does this work for everyone? Speak now or forever hold your peace. :)

No problems here. Apologies for my recent absence. I am getting back into this again, but I won't have anything for 1.6.

I do have a question regarding the file "Custom - Races Core mods v1.6". I noticed many of the races from this file have been removed. Is there a plan to phase this out? I only ask because I find that I need to add in the Psionic versions of the Githyanki and Githzerai races from the Expanded Psionics Handbook. This seemed like the logical place to put them, but if its being phased out, then perhaps not. Or should I just start a new file altogether?

That file was originally for races already in HL that were replaced by new versions. When I compiled all the Monster manual into one file I moved most of them there. You'll find the Gith in MM - Compiled

Thanks, Lawful. Yes, I saw the Gith there, but there are slightly different versions in the Expanded Psionics Handbook. These are the ones I was looking to add. I may create a new file for monster races from this book. It seems like that probably makes more sense.

I've pulled my spell adjustments file out of the 1.6 development folder!
It needs a lot more tinkering before it should be included! The pathfinder system introduces easier ways to implement things. Here's hoping for a major feature update to D20 in the future!

Release 1.6 is now Frozen. I have moved out the files from the Development area so any new changes should go into the 1.7 folder.

Thanks

Just a quick update. I have had production issues at one of my clients all week so have gotten very little done getting 1.6 done. :(

Will see how the weekend goes...

No worries, I've been busy preparing for the move back to America, so I completely understand. In fact, I am just about to leave my house of the last year.
