Custom Vampire with Choosable Abilities

Hi there. First time poster.

I came across this thread on the Paizo forums, and wondered if this particular template could be done in Herolab. I have little editing experience, and absolutely no scripting experience, so I was wondering if someone could lend me a hand. It would mean a lot to me if someone could guide me through this process.

Asking for super general help of "I need to do this new base class, or enter this new race, or new template" usually will not get you many responses actually. The question is way to vague. In example if I came to you said Please explain to me how to build my new house. I think you may see its ALLOT of stuff your asking.

My advice is to read where FAQ#2 about where to find help for the editor. I would also advise reading the "Glossary of Terms" so you get an idea of what it is your reading in the help and on these forums.

Then start simple by creating the template Thing first. That will let you adjust the following: CR, AL, Type, Armor Class, and Hit Dice. This is done on the "Template" tab in the editor.

The next part that is pretty easy is Senses as those Things are already created and you can simply bootstrap them on.

Then I would work on the new Racial Special Things and only getting them in as text. Get them bootstrapped to the template.

Last thing would be trying to figure out how to get things to disable and/or replace other Racial Specials.

A template is by far one of the more complex things to do in the editor and personally don't advise starting with it. Either way start with small pieces of the template. If you have a "specific" questions than feel free to ask it and you will get better detailed help.
