Custom content outputs?

I've only used the demo version so far, but I have a couple questions.

1) If I enter a number of custom feats, spells, and other content, is there a report that will allow me to print out that content in standard format for the players to reference?

2) Assuming 1) above is true, are there filters that can generate specific lists of such data from the core rules AND my custom content, and sort it by class, race, etc.?

I'm trying to determine how much benefit I will gain from the software before I purchase it.

Spent some more time with the demo last night. It's got a lot of neat tools, but from what I can see, the biggest limitation is in getting the data out of the program.

For example, I don't see options for including text descriptions (even brief ones) for the feats or spells on a character sheet. It may be a peccadillo, but with automated software, that type of thing should be readily available.

With regard to custom content, that would be my biggest hesitation. For core rule content, even with just the name of the spell, or feat, or ability the player at least can look up the information in the book. If I design/create new elements for my game, I have to put them into this software AND maintain them somewhere else as a text reference for the players, since I can't get out the full description of what I put in (at least not that I've been able to see.)

The program really is designed to either be used during game, or to print out a character after it has been created in HL. I'm not sure what you are looking to do. If your players want a list if feats or spells they should be able to use the D&D books for that.

Assuming you're talking about d20 / pathfinder, try enabling the "Show Feat / Ability Descriptions" option - click the clipboard on the "Configure Hero" form, and it should be listed under "Output Options".

Each game system generates output differently. As chiefweasel says, for most games we assume that the player already knows roughly what the content does, and just give them a quick reminder of it on the character sheet if that option is turned on.
