current data files

I haven't used Army Builder in about a year -- bought a new PC and didn't get around to changing my license till today. I've updated the data files from inside the program and the latest update for Warhammer that appears in that list is Feb 23 2007. Are there no updates since then or do I need to look elsewhere? I notice one bug when i build my Empire roster -- no Common Magic Items--i'd read about this bug elsewhere, but I was under the impression that it was fixed--does this mean I don't have the most current data files--and if I don't why isn't the most current data file appearing when I click View Updates? I did pay a 2 year subscription (March 2006 if I remember correctly) so I believe I'm current.

Thanks for any help.

You can find the latest Empire data file update from the User Uploads section of the Downloads page found in the left hand menu here. It certainly would be great if you actually could get the latest updates from the AB automatic updates, but that regrettably is not the way it works. I probably am not going to continue paying for the automatic updates in the future as new appear so seldom, and the most recent updates apparently aren't found there

That's most likely not Lone Wolf's fault though. That's probably the datafile author's fault. They need to submit them to LW to get them put into the auto-updates instead of just sticking the bug fixes in the 'Downloads' section.

Kind of weird that Lone Wolf is making money off me, but is only using volunteers to create datafiles. So it's like a service, but not really a service. They just provide the program and it's up to some kind stranger to do the work and if they don't follow protocol, oh well, they're just volunteers after all so it's not their fault? If I'm paying a fee to Lone Wolf, in my mind they need to take an active hand, or what am I paying for? If I'm paying a yearly fee, I expect something for my money (like inprogram updates), not to be lumped in with the people who only bought the original program yet who have access to the same datafiles as the customers who are paying the licensing fees--if I'm supporting them financially, at least give me the damned datafiles linked to the Update button like I was told I'd get. I don't mind paying for value--and unless I'm missing something, I'm not getting my money's worth from LW and will not be renewing.
