Creating New Class woes

Hello all...

I am trying to create a new race class which stacks with the base sorcerer spell slots and class attributes.

Basically, I have a Verrik Sorcerer, and need to replace class abilities for the six Verrik levels, but count the six Verrik levels as Sorcerer levels for known spells and spells/day.

What's the best way of doing this? I am stumped.

I'm not able to figure out what you're truing to accomplish. Seeing the original text of this ability, rather than a paraphrase, would probably help.

Thanks for the responses.

The idea is to have a race level act as a prestige class where the a standard sorcerer level is incremented as the race level increments resulting in say a L1 Sor/L6 Ver to be a L7 Sor - but with the race level modifications.

I got something working, but it's mostly band-aides. I'd like it to be a bit smoother.

Due to the work around I have created, I don't have an immediate need, but I sure would like to fix a few things with it.

If you're having this act like a prestige class, why not go all the way and use the "extra magic level" mechanisms that prestige classes use?

Look at everything on the Class tab and find an option named "Extra Magic/Power Levels" - have you read the instructions for that option?
