Creating Animated Objects

Hey All,

In Carrion Crown it provides rules for animated objects, including flaws such as Haunted. How do I add the Haunted Flaw?

When I click "Add New Custom Abilities" on the background tab for an animated object (medium) (or gargautuan, or small), haunted is among the options to choose from.

Carrion Crown is one of your active sources, right?

And now another problem has arisen that may be a bug. I start Herolab, check all the boxes and then hit "set default". I should be set right? No.

I then import the stock creature from the dataset, and get ready to adjust. At this point I have to go back into configure hero in order to tick all the boxes again before I can see all the options. Is this is a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I get this problem on my Win XP box too but not on my Vista system. It's been reported previously.

That's not a bug that is working as designed. Set default is Set Default for NEW characters. Once a character/monster is saved it saves the settings in "Configure Your Hero".

Otherwise think about someone wanting to have two different characters with different options like house rules or books checked. You know if you had different characters in two different campaigns. It would be really bad if HL didn't save your Configure Your Hero settings with each character.

So that means I have to adjust that every time I bring in a monster that I want to "adjust on the fly"?

Well, instead of clicking all the check boxes, just click on "Use Defaults". It will pop up a warning, but that is because you are about to take the stock checkboxes and set them to whatever you have set up under the Set Default setting.
Not exactly what you are looking for, but it is what works with allowing different mixes to not be overwritten unexpectedly.

I guess what would be nice is a 'mask' that basically includes your choices on that screen, but allows you to save several different ones, and apply them easily.
