Creating a Wizard - A few bugs

I have encountered a few bugs (I think!) creating a Wizard:

Linguistics and Fly need to be Class Skills for the Wizard

Skill Ranks are calculated as 2+INT mod for the Wizard, the software is off here

Cantrips from prohibited schools should not be in the spellbook

Should select 3+INT mod level 1 Spells to spellbook. Software doesnt say x of y to indicate # spells left to add. Not sure if this is a bug, but it would sure be nice to have... :p

Thx!

Fixed in the next update - thanks. I appear to have missed the entire process of updating the wizard's class skills from the SRD to Pathfinder.

Skill Ranks are calculated as 2+INT mod for the Wizard, the software is off here

Please give me more information about what's happening - I can't duplicate your error. I tried creating a 1st level wizard, and he gets 3 skill points - 2 for wizard, 1 for his first level class (wizard) being a favored class.

Cantrips from prohibited schools should not be in the spellbook
Re-read the wizard section - this is a change from the SRD to Pathfinder - opposition spells can be memorized at the cost of 2 spell slots.

Should select 3+INT mod level 1 Spells to spellbook. Software doesnt say x of y to indicate # spells left to add. Not sure if this is a bug, but it would sure be nice to have... :p

Not something we can enforce - The number of spells in a Wizard's spellbook will vary greatly from campaign to campaign and wizard to wizard. There are just too many possibilities availalble to enforce anything.

Hi! Forget about the skill rank calculation... my bad!

As for the prohibited schools. I wasnt referring to spell memorization (which you got right btw)

I was referring to the spells in the spellbook. cf. p. 79 of the book

A wizard begins play with a spellbook containing all
0-level wizard spells (except those from his prohibited
schools, if any; see Arcane Schools)

Thanks!

nb. For example, say I create a Wizard with Abjuration as the specialty and Conjuration & Illusion as the opposite/prohibited schools, a beginning Wizard will not have any Cantrips L0 spells from either of those prohibited schools in their starting spellbook.

Again, I'm just pointing out. May be a feature instead of an actual bug. For such a complicated ruleset, you did a very good job.

grumble, grumble, grumble - it's always the little exceptions that take only a line to write in an RPG that take the longest to code in HL.

I hadn't noticed that little rule about not getting any opposed cantrips. I'll figure out if we can apply it (for example, what if a player is halfway through creating their character when they decide to make a specialist wizard - what happens if they've already memorized opposed spells?). Thanks for pointing it out, now I'll see if we can deal with what the game designers have given us.

LOL. Sorry for ruining your party... Mind you, it's not a big bug... I will houserule that they don't pick the opposed school cantrips for now.:D

I think getting the NPC classes would probably be a higher priority... (hint, hint)

So.... it's been a while... Any progress on getting the opposed schools bug fixed? We just ran into this making our party wizard. Not a huge one, but it's still there.
