Creating a new race with racial language

tandell

New member
G'Morning,

Does anyone know how to create a new automatic language for a new race? e.g. I create the race 'rDog' and the language 'lDog', however when I go to select the language to be automatic - the list is not changed and I cannot create a new tag. I figure I can probably do this via the bootstrap but that seems like it's "not the right way"

You did hit "Test Now" for the language before trying to add it to the race, right? I just tried creating a language and race, and it worked for me, except that the new language was at the bottom of the list of languages allowed, but alphabetized properly in the list of automatic languages.

Yup, I hit the test now button...

... and upon loading it up this morning, I can see the languages that I've created. One moment, while I test.

Appears that some things show up on the 'test now' button and somethings have to be loaded from when Hero Lab starts. (i.e. I have to shut it down and then reopen everything.)

Edit: BTW, thanks for the reply and prompting me to look at it again :)

I just tested stuff, and you should be able to select the language as an
"Automatic Language" at any time after you've hit the "Test Now" button
for it. Until you've hit the Test button, Hero Lab doesn't really know
about the language, so it can't be included in the list.

This is exactly the issue. Sorry for not making this clear!
