Crash at start

Hey Guys,

I installed the software and it crashed right after trying to launch it. It constantly crashes and never launches, as a result, i can't register my account.

I have Windows 7 Home x64, tried uninstalling/installing to different paths (I never install to program files folder, even though this time i tried once to see if it is the issue, it still crashed), tried installing to SSD and normal HDD. Shutting down programs running in the back won't work also.

Sent error report and waiting for answer. Anybody else experiencing same issue?

Edit: The error message is this:

I had the same problem. Got this message "SQL Execute NonQuery failed: ALERT TABLE State DROP LastSync. DROP LastDownload"

Have you tried running it in another mode, right click the Icon, Choose Properties
Then Compatibility and try maybe Win XP.

Or Try as Administrator.

Good Luck

Me too,

SQL ExecuteNonQuery failed: ALTER TABLE State DROP LastSync, DROP LastDownload

I will reboot and see if that will do anything.

That error sounds like something got borked with your database on initial creation, which we've never seen happen before. Please try deleting your database and starting over, allowing Realm Works to recreate everything for you. You'll find the database in:

\\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\LWD Technology, Inc.\Realm Works

Delete the entire contents of this directory, including all sub-directories, for a clean start. Your account will still exist on the server. This will simply start fresh with the local database.

There was only one file named MASTER.REALM, tried deleting it, still not working. Same crash error popping up again. As for account creation, i have never been able to create it in the first place since the program never run even once because of this crash...

What may cause the problem? By the way the language of the OS is not English, may it have anything to do with this?

I deleted the directory suggested, but it still didn't load. The error did change to 'Provider Load error'.

So I deleted everything and downloaded a new copy of the install. Ran through everything again and got the 'Provider load failure' error again. I did send the error report via the pop up dialog. (images load 001-003)

I then rebooted the computer tried again. Now I am back to the original error. (image 004)

I am running:
Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Service Pack 1

So I'll stop here and let you look into things when you get the chance. I just broke my finger and left handed hunt and peck really isn't doing the job here. But I did want to poke around and get familiar with RW.

What language are you running under? Also, what is the Windows user name of the login you are using? Both of those could be a factor, and knowing the specifics would help us try to reproduce the problem on our end. :)

Have both of you submitted a support ticket? These sound like issues that will entail some back-and-forth discussion to figure out exactly what's going wrong. Submitting a support ticket will make that significantly easier to keep track of on our end, so please do that. :)

I have already submitted an error report by sending when the crash happened. Do I have to open another ticket from the site? My OS is Turkish and the user name is Fethi, nothing fancy.

The crash report should be sufficient, assuming you included your e-mail address.

OK, I have submitted a report via the form. I didn't think to add my email to the automated reports..

We just got back from GenCon late last night. Today has been spent trying to get partially caught up after being gone for over a week. We'll be looking at these issues closely over the next couple of days to figure out what's going wrong and get you up and running.

As long as everyone provided us with the crash reports, we'll have a record of the problem that we can try to figure out.
