Cleric familiar/companion

I am making a cleric that was gifted with a celestial hawk when he was young. GM says to run it as a familiar/companion. How do I add that to the character?
 
Create the hawk as a separate character in the same portfolio. Add celestial template and HD, and adjust hit points and anything else in adjustments to make it work the way the GM says it does..
 
Now that I'm not walking out the door. Create a custom archetype in the editor and down near the bottom you'll see where you can add a companion, select familiar/animal companion whichever you're using and then add the archetype to your character and you'll get the option to gain a familiar on your class tab. If you also get the share spell, etc abilities make sure to add those to the archetype as well at the proper levels.
