Hi

I've sent this message in the past but i don't think it has been making it
so here goes... I noticed a problem in the 40k AB files for Chaos.. The
bikers have a problem.. They are all fine until you want to add an aspiring
champion.. he costs the total cost of biker+ac upgrade but you can't change
his bike's weapons.. so either his cost needs to be dropped to the ac
upgrade only or he needs a bike added to his profile to have weapon
changes.. I haven't had time to play with ABCreator so i have no clue how
to do this.

thanx,

If you haven't read the fluff in the draft version of my codex go to

I've just checked the relevant entry in the Codex... here it is.

Weapons: Each bike is fitted with twin-linked bolters. Each Chaos Space
Marine rider is armed with a bolt pistol or a close combat weapon.

Options: ... up to two Chaos Space Marine Bikers may replace their twin-
linked bolters with the following weapons: meltagun at +10 pts, or
plasma gun at +15 pts.

The Aspiring Champion can't change his bike's weapon, as the upgrades
are stated in the Options (and not the Weapons) section. He should,
however, have twin-linked bolters on his option list.

Yes he can - Codex:CSM, page 20

"The bike is generally fitted with twin-linked bolters, but can be upgraded to a
meltagun or a flamer at an additional +10pts each."

But surely if that applies to the Aspiring Champion, it should also
apply to the other members of the unit?

Nope. Only Asp Champs and IC get the special stuff from the Wargear list :)

But surely if that applied, it would apply to the normal bikers too?

The squad entry in the codex tells you what squad upgrades are available.

Mmm. I'll take a look at it.

(Why do all these things have to come out of the woodwork now? Why
couldn't they have last year? :P)

Err....one more thing, the Chaos Rhino is still armed with a stormbolter instead
of a combi-bolter :)

That's because it says "Storm Bolter" in the codex. Is there any
resource that says differently, and if so where is it? :)

A Chaos Q&A in a WD issue cleared this up - GW said it was a 'cut and paste
error' :)

Can you specify the issue? Or at least, "it was between issues x and y"?
Oh, and I'd like the moon on a stick as well. :)
