How would I go about making an animal companion into a magical beast as per the Celestial Servant feat? I don't appear to be able to change the type of an animal companion and the feat itself doesn't alter the creature type.

I'm guessing this isn't a bug but the way Lone Wolf are reading the feat which is fine, so I'm not reporting a bug. My reading though is that an animal companion becomes a magical beast and so gains full BAB and d10 HD. But I just don't know how to make that happen :(

I'd do this with a custom template, those have built in mechanisms for changing type, including overwriting HD and BAB.

You could also use my adjustments addon to change the BAB and hit dice values.

Attack, Base Attack Bonus - to change the BAB. You would have to keep increasing this value as you leveled up.
Class, Die Size - to change to d10.

Just another option...

Cheers fellas, both of those are nice easy work arounds :)

edit - looks like animal companion hit dice aren't a valid target for altering - can't select them in the drop down. Oh well, template it is!
