Can't get out of Demo mode!

Derkus

New member
So I bought a copy from a retailer, install it, enter license info, activate it, it restarts all looks good and... "Your running in demo mode... blah, blah, blah..."

I am getting no errors, no warnings, I am just stuck in demo mode.

Anyone have any advice?

I'm having this problem also. I actually had it running correctly a few days ago, but when I went to start it up this morning, it was back in demo mode...now im stuck in demo mode

If something changes on your computer to make AB think you've switched to a different computer, it will revert to demo mode. The solution is to re-run the license activation wizard. This will get AB re-activated and you'll be off and running.

I am also having this problem, its opening with "example game system". I've tried re-licensing it as well as opening a secondary license, but no go. I have also email tech support, but being the weekend, I don't expect an answer soon. Any thoughts?

Er, starting up with only the "Example Game System" is correct and proper behavior. This has nothing to do with being in demo mode. Are you getting a message that says you're in demo mode after loading the Example Game System? If not, then AB is fully licensed, and you simply haven't grabbed the data files you need yet.

In case you aren't aware, AB does NOT include the data files for any game systems. After you install and launch AB, you need to use the integrated Updates mechanism to get the data files for the game systems you play. This needs to be done whether you're running in demo mode or not. There's a prominent message warning you about this detail when you first launch AB, but perhaps you missed it. You'll find details about the Updates mechanism under the Help menu, in the User Manual, and in the Tutorial.
