Can't copy cloak in editor

I was trying to create a custom cloak today. It should combine the functions of a Cloak of the Hedge Wizard (abduration) and a Cloak of Resistance +2. I expected it to be quick to do buy copying the more complicated one and adding the resistance bonus. However I am not allowed to copy the Cloak of the Hedge Wizard.

Is there a way to get permission to copy it?
Otherwise I suppose I will have to add each of the functions myself.
 
You can manually duplicate each of the elements of a protected item, but you can't copy the item as a single entity.
 
You can open up two copies of the editor at the same time.

Have the source material, which is copy protected in one of those.
And your desired copy item, which is the "destination" from the source.

Copy each component of the original, onto your version of it.
And save it, as your own thing.
Then maybe copy the properties of the other item, also onto this version.
Hopefully they work together.

If you have issues, post here and people more knowledgeable than myself may be able to assist you.
