Can't Choose Alternate Save Folder

I have my AB 3.1c installed on two laptops, both running Windows XP. The only OS difference is that one is a Tablet PC. The non-tablet is my primary machine and I have no troubles on it. The Tablet machine is secondary and has a Windows Briefcase folder on it that copies files from the primary machine. For some reason, when I go to choose an Alternate Save Folder on the tablet, I cannot see most of the folders under My Documents, including the briefcase folder. The logon IDs on both have admin rights, so it shouldn't be that. AB does not let me enter the folder manualy either. Does anyone have any suggestions?
