Cannot get monsters to show up in the Encounter Builder

I've followed all the advice I found on here about creating my own monsters in the editor. They will not show up in the encounter builder. I know I'm saving it in the right file (Gamesystem Data Folder>Data>5e. I'm not tech savvy at all, so I'm having a really hard time with this. What am I doing wrong? Please help, Thanks.
 
There are several steps to take to make a custom creature you make appear in the encounter builder, but I'm not sure which one you might be missing so I'm going to put the steps I take and maybe you can tell me where it might be causing you some consternation:

1. Create the monster/npc in the editor.
2. Save the .user file in the 5e data folder.
3. Create a new portfolio.
4. Create a new NPC, give it the name of my monster and select the Race that is the same as my monster. Give it any equipment it needs. (AT this step, make sure my monster has all the configuration options that it might need [hit ctrl-k and make sure the options are checked for equipment, spells, etc.)
5. Save the portfolio as a .stock file in the 5e folder.

At this point if you go to the Encounter Builder, it should give you a message that it needs to reload the files as new creatures were added and do a little recompile routine.

A lot of people stop at step 2 and don't create a .stock file in the 5e data folder. This means the monster can be chosen as an NPC race, but there isn't a "stock" NPC built for it to find in the encounter builder.
 
THAT WAS IT! You solved my problem

That was it, you fixed my problem. And you were right, I stopped at step 2. I thought that once you created the file, you then save it as a stock file, I didn't realize you to make a portfolio for it; like I said, I'm not very tech savvy. Thanks again, I really appreciate it. I'd buy you a beer or three if I could.
