Bottom Line

OK, so I've tried to research the answer to my question for awhile now; but unfortunately, the more I read, the more confused I get.

So here's what I want to do:

I plan on running two online campaigns (via Roll20), semi-concurrently. The first would be some variation of D&D set in a heavily-modified version of the Mystara setting. The second would be a Shadowrun game set in Seattle circa 2050.

Ideally, I'd like to use the same game mechanics for both. My personal preference at this time is D&D 4E but the amount of work necessary to port SR over to 4E is daunting, to say the least. However, a combination of D20 Modern (specifically Urban Arcana) & Future seem like a reasonable system for a conversion.

This thought, along with the fact that I've used Hero Lab on and off for 3.5 games for sometime, led me to wonder if I could just add some kind of D20 Modern component to HL. After some research, I get the impression it is possible but I'd need to do it via the Pathfinder add-on. So question #1 is...

Is my assumption correct? Is PF the most feasible way to utilize the Modern & Future mechanics? And if the answer is yes, how much is really included with the core PF module?

For instance, I tried it in demo-mode but was confused about which races were included. Some of the ones from the Advanced Race Guide seem to be there but others weren't. Does that mean that if I were to also get the Add-On Package for that supplement it would include them all?

I would assume it would, but then the description on the web-page seems a bit vague: "contains the new alternate racial traits, favored class bonuses, archetypes, feats, spells, equipment, and more from the Advanced Race Guide". Does that mean the "new alternate racial traits" for the core races or all the traits for all the races included in that supplement?

And finally, assuming that I would need to go the PF+ARG add-on route, how do I go about incorporating the additional Modern/Future data mentioned in various places in the forum?

Sorry for seeming so dense but there's a lot of related info here that's spread all over the place and has accumulated over 5+ years. And to be honest, some of that is starting to feel a bit bloated... like having to read 50+ pages of a discussion that was pertinent some time ago but doesn't have a bottom-line answer for 'right now'.

Thanks in advance for any help pointing me in the right direction!
