Bootstrapping Source: Part 2

For the life of me, I can not seem to find the Tags and such to do the "No Power Points" Source, Like you said to do the Super Karma Source.

I found that it is a Setting Rule but I can't seem to make that work. I would like it to be setup for a setting without having to check it. Is this done like how you said to do the Super Karma, because I just can't seem to get it to work.

Not everything is set up to support that sort of thing - unless it was built to use autotags, instead of testing the source directly, you will have to check that source in order to get the effects of that.

I'd recommend requesting that the underlying mechanism be changed, to allow you to implement it with a tag.

It would really be great if a lot of the hidden fiddly bits could be made more open. There could be a section in the editor that has references, charts, and equations. An example of what would be there is the experience table. Another is the various built in setting rules.

In fact, in my opinion it is possibly better to have all of the setting rules built in because it is easier to share a "Setting File" (user file) than saying "OK, check this setting, this one, this rule, and that rule". "Oops, Joe, you forgot to check that one rule down and the bottom!"

The editior is not hard to work with, and for the most part only the GM needs to play with it. It is far more elegant and effective for it to be automated behind the scnees.

Thinking about the "No Power Points" setting, it needs to be able to be linked to specific Arcane Backgrounds. It is possible to play in a game setting that has both a Power Point version and a non-power point version.

What I have done with my recent campaign-setting tweaks is that I have no power points for Psionics, but both Arcane and Miracles have their own power points (which I made Derived Traits). It is theoretically possible for a character to have all three and they do not "clash" like they would have in the normal rules.

Yeah, I like that idea, too. Being able to select more settings that would be appropriate based either on the setting in use (so like is on the Setting Adjust tab now, but with more choices) or on individual items, even if just limited to Edges/Hindrances and maybe Faction/Groups.
