Assigning tool proficiency

I am trying to assign proficiency with tools (e.g. smith's tools) when a magic item is attuned. I have tried assigning tags at different priorities, but have not been able to get anything to work. I also understand that the tools will need to be bootstrapped. But when I bootstrap them they show up in the list of purchased equipment. Any recommendations?

The easiest way to learn this is to find things where it has been done previously. Flip through the PHB and find something that replicates what you want to do and then look that thing up in the editor.

In my signature is a link to the Community Pack Github. That's a significant resource for us. It has a WIKI with some helpful info, more importantly though is you can search the files for keywords. So if you can find the name of the 'thing' you want to add you can search for the 'things' name in Github and see examples of where that 'thing' has been modified or used previously.

More often than not you just need to copy from somewhere else.

That got me pointed in the right direction. I had looked some earlier for other magic items and races that gave tool efficiency, but was not successful. I had not checked the classes. I checked the classes and quickly saw that the druid and the rogue give tool proficiencies. I bootstrapped the tool to the magic item and gave the tool the "Proficienc.Tool" tag, and it worked perfectly. Thanks for your help.
