Hey there, I happily used v1.4 to construct some datafiles for
Stargrunt... accidentally erased them when I upgraded to v2.0, and
now when I try and redo them, I keep getting the same problem, when
Army Builder loads up, it just freezes (and I think rapidly eats up
memory, but I can't be sure of that).

I have compared the text file of my datadef to all the ones I have,
and there is no apparent change. I checked to be sure that the ABdef
tool was working by undef'ing a 40K file then redef'ing it to a new
extension, it worked fine...

Has anyone else had this problem? I haven't found any questions on the
list about it. Can anyone knowledgeable tell me what is wrong... I
will gladly email the text file to anyone who might be able to... this
is driving me crazy.

Never, has always worked like a charm for me. No lies.

Your problem seems like it requires more technical
knowledge than I have for certain.

Try reinstalling v2.0b of Army Builder, your current copy may be
corrupted... Rob?

This is the first time I've ever heard of anything like this. Please send
the file directly to me at rob@wolflair.com. I'll take a look and see what
might be the problem.

Thanks, Rob

Is the datadef file the SAME one you used for the 1.4d files, or have
you created a new one? If it's the SAME one, you'll have to get Rob
to help you out (he's already replied). Otherwise...

Rob, wasn't there a problem that if you had too many visible stats
that were too wide to display AB went into an infinite loop?
(It happened to me with the BattleTech files :-) Could it be that?

Russell.

That's definitely possible. Since it has been fixed, I didn't think of it
as a possibility with V2.0. However, if he hasn't updated to get the bug
fix, he'd be running into it. Make sure that you have updated to V2.0c.
It's a free download off the web-site. If it's this problem, an appropriate
error message will be reported to you instead of the infinite loop.

Thanks for remembering that one, Russell!! :-)

Hope this helps,
Rob
