I can not retieve a saved file from AB3. This effects both
Warhammer fantasy battles and Warhammer 40k files so I assume that
it is something about the program itself. The file exists and if I
double click the file to start that way, it crashes the program and
closes.

When I use the program to open a file it places the word "[WH6]*" in
the file name dialog box (The " marks are not part of the dialog,
they are just there to show what is in the dialog box). The 40k
file has "[40k]" and again no file is shown that I can choose.
Folders are displayed as normal, but not file with the
extention .rst.

AB is looking for files that begin with those
characters...in order to turn this off go to
"Settings" on the menu up top, select "Basic Settings"
and deselect "Add Game Prefix when Saving
Roster"...You probably deleted the prefix when you
named the file...When loading a file you could also
delete the "[40K]" and substitute "*.*" and it will
show you all of the files in your save folder...

A friend of mine had this same problem on Sunday with a 40k file. I ended
up renaming it to just what AB want to name it as when you go to save a
file, something like [40k].rst. That opened just fine. I wonder if you
keep the [40k] at the beginning of the file name it will open it?
