Is there any word on when the authoring kit will become available for
the general public, or better yet, when I can get a copy of it for
myself? I've been involved in playtesting a new game, and thought
that something like Army Builder would be really good for it.

From what I hear, you can ask WL for it if you're going to make some
data files. It's just not released for general consumption yet.

Hi is there any tool to develop extension output file ? or any
interface specification ?

Hi,

You will have to wait for the authoring kit to get the DTD file from
the doc.
I modify the V2 abxml.c file to comply to the new DTD (with the patch
for recursion) and my own parsing files. I begun just with a sample of
a .rst file to see what elements and attributes there was. I know that
the extension I program with only theses infos is perfectible (I had
lots of problems with special caracters éêàüÿù...)

The docs are still sub-standard, so we haven't publicly released the Kit
officially. But anyone who wants a copy can get it by asking. The only
problem is that the docs are still in Beta quality.

The DTD specification is included in the Kit documentation. So you can find
full info on what the contents of the roster files is. Writing a custom
extension itself is up to the individual at the present time.

Indeed, it is up to us to write a new one. But my question was : "If I
write one how can I integrate it in AB menu ? How does this software
will access to the active roster in AB ?

You just have to write an extension file with your extension name, its
parameters.
There will be a shortcut on file/output extension menu.
You will find the roster in temp directory (customext.xml)
If you want a sample look at my French confrontation files, you will
find the declaration in Extension.ext.

What he said. :-)

It's trivial hooking up an extension within the data files. You need to
create the XML file by hand, but it's a total of three lines of text (with
two of them being the document start/end tags), so it's very easy. The
specifics are documented in the Authoring Kit and you can take a look at
Garfunkel's files for an example that you can probably clone and then tweak
slightly to your needs.

OK thank you frédéric I will check and try to work with that.

I've in mind to try to generate the French federation sheet for tournament.

Best regards,
Laurent
