AncientOne's Custom Pathfinder Sheet

I'm getting the same error. Seems to be happening with all of my portfolios, so I tried opening a new one and outputting that. Same error.

Here's the XML from the new portfolio. Hopefully the lack of character information will make it easier to locate the culprit.

Thanks again as always for the work you do.

Thanks for letting me know; I'll look into this when I return from vacation. BTW, what platform (OS) are you using?

Looks good, and I like the ability to move sections around; however at least on Firefox 14 if I depopulate a column I find I can't shift anything back into it. Also in some cases* if I want section (a) below section (b) when section (b) is at the bottom of the page, I need to place (a) above (b), then shift (b) up above (a). This is most noticeable, for me at least, trying to put something under the weapon list.

Also either having a reset button or calling out that switching between landscape and portrait will reset the sections to their default positions might be an idea.

*I say some cases as that's the only one I recall and at the moment I'm away from my PC with Hero Lab.

Chrome 20.0.1132.17 beta on OS X 10.7.4. I also tried it on Safari, Firefox and Opera, but I'm pretty sure the problem is happening during the output, so the browser probably isn't a factor (and you probably already knew that).

It isn't browser-specific. I think it happens because the system can't detect when the mouse is over an empty (i.e., zero-height) section. This is why I put the word "empty" in empty container lists... to make it possible to drag things into them. I may have to do something similar for each section of the page -- force a small transparent row into any empty section so it won't be zero-height.

It seems to be quite sensitive about determining the bottom of a section. You can do it, but the mouse has to be in *just* the right spot.

I think it says this in the information panel, in the help-text for the "page orientation" item. :) It may not be obvious enough though.

An "empty" row would certainly help. :)

Now that I know it can be done I've managed to do it a couple of time, but it is quite finicky.

The only thing showing in the info panel for me is the text and link pointing to this thread for help.... no, wait... I hadn't realised you can click on the options in the control panel and get help text in the info panel. So yeah not obvious enough :D

I just get a grey background with a link to this thread on the new version of the sheet. Running OS X 10.7.4. I tried both the latest versions of Safari and Firefox.

Ditto, same issue on Chrome, Opera, Safari and Firefox, running on an iMac with latest operating system.

I think I am able to reproduce this issue at-will. Hopefully it can help:

I have a level 5 Paladin. I export him and he is fine. Then I add his divine bond (mount) and build the mount's stats and feats.

I try to export my paladin again and get the blank gray screen.
I try to export the mount and get the blank gray screen.

I go back to my paladin and delete his animal companion. Try exporting again and AHA! it works perfectly again!

Workaround: Build your character and his animal companion, then save the HL portfolio. Then I print my Animal Companion using HL default export, then go to my paladin and delete the companion. Then export to AncientOne's sheets and close HL without saving portfolio again.

My guess is there is an error when your character has animal companions.

Of course YMMV, etc...

I am having the same issue with Chrome and Firefox where all I see is the "Need Help" message and a link here.

I did note that I get that error on my Cavalier with a mount, but NOT with my Bard. The sheet works wonderfully with the Bard, but fails with the PC+Mount combination.

Just did another test - it also works with my Barbarian.

This is just a feature request. I would like to have the option of having a complete and proper stat block. Right now, the one for HL still cuts off descriptions (and even gives descriptions when I don't want them). I would like to see something that can do this.

I figured that you'd be the best one for the job since you've gone far above what I would ever have expected from a character sheet.

The update looks great A1.

A little gripe: I prefered the spell list to be right above the spells. The update moved it and provided some great options for moving it to various locations but nothing to place it back above the spell descritions.

The problem only occurs on my Macbook own character under windows will Exports have once attached both exports

AncientOne, this new version is off the metaphorical chain! Great work. I especially love that magic item descriptions print out. Here's one request: tracking boxes. That's one part of another custom sheet that I really love. The ability to just tick a box for wand charges, special ability rounds, etc. is a great little item to have on the physical paper sheet.

Thanks again for this free awesomeness!

Thanks! Consider this--and the other feature requests that have been posted--added to the "wish list". :)

While I'm at it, here's a small status update for everyone:

I'm back from vacation and have started looking into the "Grey Screen Of Death" problems that have been reported. It appears that there are two categories of issues:

1) The sheet will not work for anyone using the Mac version of Hero Lab, due to an issue I posted in this thread: http://forums.wolflair.com/showthread.php?t=22062. (I know Mac users won't like this approach but, FYI, you can generate the sheet with the Windows version of Hero Lab and use the generated sheet on a Mac.) I will investigate ways of working around this problem until LW can get it fixed, but I have to admit that I'm not optimistic. :(

2) At least one specific data issue related to minions. This one is entirely in my control and will be fixed ASAP.

The old weapon display options are missing. I really liked the condensed weapon view options that was avalible in the old sheet.

Is it still there and I'm not seeing it or was it removed? If it was removed I make a plea now to have it reinstated! :-)

Thanks,

Kizan

I'm also kinda missing the "Tracked Resources" section that would show up under Languages on the first page (both of which were under the Skills section).

It's still there... just enable "On-Sheet Controls" and then click the little "refresh" button on the upper left of the weapons section. It's the button that shows two arrows making a circle. Click that button again to change the style again.

It's still there too... By default, it should be showing up on the second page, above the gear, but you can enable "On-Sheet Controls" and then drag/drop it wherever you want it.
