Alphabetized Spellbook

Is it possible to print a character's spellbook alphabetized by spell name, ignoring the spell level?

If not, how might I request such a feature?

Thanks;

Pardon my faux pas. I didn't know there was such a thing.
Could you please point me to it? I'm not seeing one.

Thank you;

So this "Feature" you want is already part of HL and was added awhile ago. Its called 'Custom Character Sheets'. If you can dream it you can make a custom sheet to do it. :)

To find more info go to "Help->Hero Lab Manual->Custom Output".

To get you started here is my old custom spell sheet. It sorts like normal but you can change the XSLT to ignore levels. It should give you a nice jump start.

Thank you for your "Reply."
Why is it that the only thing I ever get around here is condescension?

I gave up coding a long time ago. Don't find it entertaining anymore... Not after 20 years of it.

There's a feature request thread in the forums, which is where you would request officially developed features for the software.

Generally, most of the experienced script writers on here have quite long existing to-do lists, so whilst both the long term residents such as ShadowChemosh and RavenX and the (relatively) newer members such as myself are happy to help out, that will usually come in the form of coding advice rather than offers to do it.

Occasionally an easy item catches us on a good day and we'll write something for someone, but realistically if you want something quickly you'll need to write it yourself most of the time. If you have experience with other scripting languages already, the editor is very easy to pick up, and whilst LWD are one of the best companies I've ever come across for listening to and implementing customer requests, often the quickest way to get something is to do it yourself.

It isn't really about whether you enjoy the coding process, it is about whether you're willing to put in some effort to get what you're after sooner rather than later. If not, fair enough, but the general assumption on the forums is that most gamers are happy to do so where they can. People aren't being condescending towards you, they're just assuming the (usually) given that people on here are keen to do such things themselves.

@Portilis thanks for summing up my thoughts very nicely. I admit perfectly crafted writing does not come naturally to me. Probably noticeable to anyone who has seen I can't tell the difference between there, their, and they're. :p

Also why I decided to just say sorry... ;)
