Alchemist Tinkerer Familiar and Alertness

Should this familiar be granting Alertness as per a normal familiar? It looks like the wording means that if I shape it like a specific animal "can take any shape" it doesn't grant the associated familiar bonus like "+X to Saves."
 
You gain the Alertness feat for having a familiar. It isn't a bonus granted by a particular familiar, like the save or skill bonuses.
 
If you go to the "In-Play" tab, and check the boxes for the familiar being within a mile and within arm's reach, you get the bonuses granted by that familiar. Some are tied to the one mile range and others to the arm's length range.
