Hi,
I'm using the Mac Beta of Hero Lab, and I need to make a player character with a variant mount, something like a griffon or a sleipnir. What I've found from searching the forums is that to do so, you go to the other tab, then select hireling, then go to the minion, and select the appropriate creature from the background tab. That part, no problem.
The problem is that I can't figure out how to adjust the level of the hireling. The griffon says it's Level 1-5, but it's got 5 HD. The sleipnir's got 14 HD, but it says it's Level 1-14. So, they appear with the stats of a level 5 or a level 14 respectively.
Ideally, I'd like to make a 6HD Sleipnir or Griffon; it's going to be a reward at the end of an adventure. (Basically, the PCs are gonna rescue the thing from an evil wizard who wanted to sacrifice it to the dark gods, blahblahblah, and they'll work out that it'll serve one of them as a mount/companion.) I'm then going to hand them the character sheet of their new mount.
I'd like to do it through the hireling route because, as I understand it, that's how the PC in question can then get the mount onto her character sheet. If there's an easier or better way, though, that'd be just fine.
Thanks for the help,
Goneril
