M&M 2nd ed. Adjust Tab - Blinded condition

Perhaps it's just with my characters (yes, plural) but I suspect this is probably true for all users....

When I select the Blinded condition under the Adjust tab it is correcly applying the loss of Dodge Bonus but it is only applying an additional -1 to DEF instead of the additional -2 to DEF as stated in the 'mouse-over question mark' description.

Should this be verified as a true bug and not just a quirk of my copy (v3.6g), I hope this report is in time for a fix to be made and included with the next M&M update. :)

Keep up the good work,

Bug confirmed. Also note that when you mouse over the Defense Bonus on the Abilities tab, the little pop-up help tip correctly notes the -2 penalty.

I see....for my character with Dodge Focus 3....when I mouse over the DEF Bonus on the Abilities Tab I get:

9 = 10 + -1 + [greyed out] 2 (dodge, not counted)

Breakdown: Blinded (-2), Dodge Focus 3 (+3)

When it should show:

8 = 10 + -2 + [greyed out] 3 (dodge, not counted)

Breakdown: Blinded (-2), Dodge Focus 3 (+3)

Also, since I've been led back to the Abilities Tab.....the breakdowns of the bonuses for an Ability still show User (+10) for a stat of 10 and User (+17) for a stat of 17 and User (+9) for a stat of 9 when it should respectively be User (+0) and User (+7) and User (-1)

**bump**

Hi Colen,

Just bumping this one up since you're reading/responding this evening. ;)

Thanks in advance for fixing how "Extra: Perception" wasn't being reflected a power's summary.

Keep up the good work & I'm glad you are able to return your attention to M&M. :)

Thanks, I'll make sure this is on my list of 2e fixes to make.

Hi Colen,

Excellent to see the improvements in v4.3 :) unfortunately, I have to be the bearer of bad news of some things that are still broken. :(

Perhaps this is due to the funky rule that half of any additional DEF a character buys on the Abilities Tab is considered a Dodge Bonus.

I see you are applying an across the board -4 penalty for being blinded. I looked at Green Ronin's 2nd Ed. errata and I don't see where they've bumped it from -2 to -4.

The upshot being a DEF at the non-Hero High standard of 10 OR bought to 11, 12 or 13 should result in a Blinded DEF of 8, 9, 9 and 10 since they only lose the Dodge portion of any increase that was bought for a character before the -2 is applied. v4.3 is instead showing it as 6, 7, 8 and 9 respectively.

I must also, sadly, note that the Breakdown under Abilities is still mis-reading. A stat of 17 is being shown as User +17 instead of User +7 and a stat of 8 is being shown as User +8 instead of User -2.

If these two things are just the way things have to be in order for all the rest to work just say so and I'll stop bugging you on them. :)
