Adding Oracle Mysteries and Curses

New member
I have a player who wants to use the 3rd Party Oracle Mystery (Joy) and the Curse Merciful.

Mystery (Joy)

Merciful

I have tried to create these in a .user file using the editor, but either get an error message about "editor width" or it flat doesn't appear in the Mysteries selection box.

Here is the .user file. Could someone have a look at it please? It is probably a noob mistake.

This is an error/bug with Hero Lab's interface and the only way I've found around it is to restart Hero Lab. I grabbed your file and I see it in the list. :)

Ok but I try to add the Joy Mystery to my Hero Lab thing and though it says it can work in the program it doesn't show up on my character editor...

They sourced marked the character to UserParent. This means to get this to display you have to turn on SOMETHING under the "User Content" section of the Configure Your Hero.

If you have the community pack installed turning on any option from the community pack will allow this new mystery to display. Otherwise I would recommend using the editor to simply remove the "Source" from all the Things in the file.

Wow, good to see that there's just the right thread for me; I've the same problem too.

First question: where is the community pack for the joy mystery? And how do I lead them in general? I'm new here, and asking someone is faster than RTFM.

I’m not very computer savvy. Could someone please explain the steps I need to add these to my HL on my desktop? I have a player that wants to use the merciful curse and I don’t know how to add it to the system.

It's NOT part of the Community Pack, though you could download the initial posters user file to add it to your HL.
If you don't use the Comm Pack (or want to make things easier) - Use the editor to remove the Source on all items in the file so that it shows up, or give them a source that makes sense so you can turn it on in 'Configure Hero'.

Download the user file from the first post.
Save it in the " Hero Lab / data / Pathfinder " folder
If you don't have the Community Pack, see the earlier details to change or "fix" the source problem.
Load HL and activate the source on your Hero if you gave it a source, or make sure something else is active in Configure Hero.

When I click on the link, it doesn’t download. It just opens to a screen that looks like coding. How do I download it? There is no download button.

The download button is in the upper-right of the page, next to the three dots menu button. The icon is an arrow pointing downward into a partial rectangle (I assume it's supposed to be an inbox tray). This icon is the same as what many browsers (including both Chrome and Firefox) use for their Downloads page or panel.

Thank you. I was able to get the file downloaded and put in the folder. I can now add Merciful curse to the oracle :-)
