Adding cybernetic items to HL data file

How would I add cybernetic items to a Savage Worlds data file?

Example (from Nemezis):
  • Reflex Booster gives the Quick edge
  • Targeting Mod gives the Marksman edge

Do I make them like magic items? and if so is there a walk through for magic item creation other than the basic tutorial (which really weren't to clear on the magic items stuff)?

Thanks.

You shouldn't need to set them up as magic items. Just add them in the Editor as equipment and bootstrap the Edge with them. It's a bit late for me right now to go into the exact details, so I'll try to follow-up tomorrow if someone else doesn't jump in before then.

I forgot to get back to you on this. Sorry. I guess the question is, can you figure it out just from that or will you need some more detailed instructions on it?

Zarlor's right, magic items are more complicated than what you need.

It might be easier to add the gear, and then just add the additional Edge with a Permanent Adjustment.

Thanks for the help. I'm on my way to putting cybernetics in my data file.

Another question would be how would I make a cyberarm be able to hold modifications (make it a bag)? How would I limit what could be put into it?

That's a bit more complicated, and limiting what it can hold gets really complicated. Presumably you could make it a container, although I don't know of any real way to limit how much a container can hold. So that might be a possibility, though. The other method is to set things up as a gizmo which I don't really have very much experience with (although I've used it for setting up vehicles before, I think in the Weird War II file if you want to download that to take a loot at it.) Considering the hoops jbearwillis got his High Space files to jump through he may have some good insights, though.

Outside of that probably the next closest thing would be how maybe magic items are set-up but that gets WAAAY beyond what I've ever really messed with.
