Adding Arcane Backgrounds

CapedCrusader

I've tried to add a new Arcane Background (Black Magic) and it won't appear in the list of Arcane Background Edges in HeroLab. It still shows in the Editor. Is anyone else running into this? What am I missing? I am creating it using the Copy button, and I'm duplicating the Magic Arcane Background.

There are *two* steps involved in adding an arcane background. The first is to create the background itself, which you have done. The second step is to add the corresponding *edge*.

The arcane background coordinates all the details of allowed powers and whatnot. However, you need to add the edge so that the background can actually be added to the character. Switch to the Edge tab in the Editor and you'll see edges for the different arcane backgrounds. Copy one to create your new edge, then modify it appropriately, being sure to specify the appropriate background. Then test it.

After you have both steps completed, you should be able to select the background from the list of edges and then have it behave correctly as an arcane background.
