adding a new race/monster class

I'm playing a Treant from DND 3.5, but using savage species for how to do the monster levels. I'm trying to figure out how to create the race as the base to start with. Can someone give me some advice on how to create a Treant?

A good place to start is the HELP file in the Editor itself. Read threw that, and do the tutorial, this will give you a good place to start.

There is a tab in the editor called "Class, Monster" that is the one you will be wanting to use, rather than the normal class, or the race tab. Unfortunately, there are not any examples in the core files for you to look at, to my knowledge, but give it a go and post here with any questions, we're always happy to help.

Yep, just create a new monster class from the "Class, Monster" tab. Once you've created the monster class, you'll be able to select it as a race, and add levels of it just as you would any other class. You can add special abilities, bonus feats, etc just like you would for a class in the editor.

ok got alot of the base stuff worked out. just trying to figure out some of the special rules. any idea's on how to create a new creature type? is it easier to make one from scrach or edit an existing one?

Creature types are not currently supported - they're on the to-do list - I'll get to them eventually. Just go special by special.
