Accessing Evaluation State from Finalize Scripts

NOTE! I made this into a separate thread so that it wouldn't be lost under
the original thread. I felt this was important, since it's been a couple
weeks from the original post.
--------------------

The key problem with this is that the Finalize script is also invoked for
every unit in the Available Units list. At that point in time, there are NO
options associated with the unit. So how should the Finalize script handle
these two disparate situations in a graceful way for the data file author
and the user? This issue is the reason that the Finalize script only
accesses information that is valid for units in the Available Units list.

Thoughts????
