I got a new laptop yesterday and after installing my specialty fonts that I like I downloaded HeroLab and moved my secondary license to the new laptop.
When I try to output a portfolio to PDF, it comes out... wrong. Like, unusable. I have put in a help ticket with Lone Wolf, but I thought I'd try here, too, to see if anyone else has had this issue and if/how you were able to resolve it. A sample of my PDF output is attached. So far I have tried removing the specialty fonts (didn't fix it), and uninstalling/reinstalling HeroLab (also didn't fix it). Any ideas? |

The support ticket is the way to go - we need to be able to get the saved character that's generating this, and try it ourselves, to see if we can reproduce the same output with the same character.
Also, please include the OS you're running on. Linux does some weird things with pdfs, and the difference between windows using the pdf plugin and a mac using its native pdf generation is probably important to reproducing this issue. |

That is the Bat, from the Pathfinder encounter generator. It does that with any portfolio I try to output, also regardless of game system. No PDF I create comes out right.
Windows 10 Home 64 bit is the OS. I included that in the ticket I sent. I mentioned installing my special fonts because I suspect this is a fonts issue somehow. Last edited by EricaOdd; June 2nd, 2017 at 09:49 AM. |

More examples attached. Savage Worlds and Pathfinder characters from portfolios I created.
The Savage Worlds one looks ok at first glance, but a closer look shows nothing is bolded, there are unusual characters here and there, there is missing text, etc. Pathfinder character is as screwed up as the Bat from the Encounter Builder. |

So... uhhh... just like that, problem solved!
I applied the gigantic Windows 10 update today, and upon reboot, HeroLab is making correct PDFs again. Weird! Not sure what caused it, not sure what about the update fixed it, but, it's fixed! |
