I just realized a flaw in how I was going things.
I was letting the user choose a race, no problem there. But then I was displaying a drop-down to let the user choose the type. (For example, the user could choose Dragonborn, and then from the pull-down select the type, Black, Blue, Red, White, etc). However, I was bootstrapping specific racial traits depending on what they chose, so if they then changed their race, the dragonborn ancestry was still there for that type. Does that make sense, obviously what I did is horribly wrong. Maybe I'll just drop this project since MagicSN sounds like he's doing a great job already, and hoping we'll be able to see it some day. I'd use a sub-race/ethnicity system, like Pathfinder does, where the sub-race is a separate pick added in a separate table, instead of chosen from a drop-down. That way, they can bootstrap things.
Also, have you seen our own announcement: http://www.wolflair.com/blog/2014/12...d-5th-edition/ |

Hehehe, I saw your twitter post. Guess I can stop that project and get back to working on Call of Cthulhu 7th Ed.
Let me guess, that's already in the works? (grin) BoomerET Castles & Crusades Ruleset for Hero Lab Hero Lab (5E D&D) -> Fantasy Grounds Character Converter |
