I don't care that vtt is out of scope, I request it anyway stuff for smart images.

- Define one (or more*) measurements for the image
- ruler that works with the given measurement
* some maps have "zoomed" areas, so there you want to use the other measurement number that has been defined.

- next to the ruler could be circles / cones with varying degrees and such stuff.
- it would be nice if these tools could be drawn temporarily on the picture (but this would require another layer)

- various small tokens / colors to move around on the map. They could be selected from a category and linked to a topic.

- A switch that toggles between "pin" view and combat view. Pins are hidden and tokens & cones and stuff is shown. This is indepently of the GM-layer.

- pins can be shown either in their default icon, with the topic icon or some other custom icon that can be defined. There should be a small galery of default icons: ?, !, x, i, a skull, chest and so on

- it would be nice if the fog of war color could be adjusted

- Allow configurable hotkeys to navigate / select things on the smart image for example each tool available should have a hotkey.

RW should move towards integration with a VTT or have a set of basic VTT tools built in.

I would only consider using RW as a VTT if support for 3 monitors was added. Having a built in player screen and a projector attached to my laptop, i like being able to throw up random pictures for the players while also controlling the VTT via MapTool.

The requirements of a VTT are so different from what RealmWorks provides it would divert a lot of resources. (Also, the definition of the "basic" set of tools will vary wildly :-) )

Different coloured pins (and shapes, but less important) would be a good improvement.

Luckily this is on the to-do list (so I believe).

I have successfully used pins on a map and given the players an idea along with my oral description.

Sleet entered History when he managed to get on the back of a Tarrasque only to be ridden out of History shortly after.

Using Realm Works, Worldographer (Hexographer 2), LibreOffice, Daz3D Studio, pen & paper for the realm World of Temeon and the system LEFD - both homebrewed.

That's why my preference would be integration with a VTT. I'd rather be able to run tactical movement on a VTT where all the development effort has gone into making that work and let RW handle all the "strategic" level stuff that RW already does far better than any VTT.

I support all of the above!

But primarily the use of more and different map pins would do a lot for me! With this I could represent the PCs and enemys on a battlemap and more.

Also faster updates of the player view would be nice. Maybe without having to save the map after each step.

The features don't have to be up to par with roll 20 ecetera but since the snippet type is there - and it's one of the important once, because the fog of war stuff is advertized on the loading banner... It should be a breeze to use it.

The banner advertises Fog of World. Very different functionality. They have stated from the start that they are not trying to recreate a VTT.

True, but it seems kind of like a natural development to add more and more features of VTTs in RW. I for one would welcome that. And some of those features would not be very hard to implement. E.g. a dice roller is quite easy to program.
