I notice if you increase the casters level of the scroll the cost of the scroll does not increase.

Now when I was check my scroll creation facts, it looks like to buy a scroll you pay base price=(spell lvl x caster lvl x 25gp) and when you scribe a scroll you pay 1/25th base price in XP's and 1/2 base price in materials. Would it be possible to add a button to toggle between these 2 options. Then maybe you tell it how many of what type scroll and at what level you are going to scribe and HL tell you how much it cost and how much time it would take.

Just a thought

Thank you,
Scott

Oops, I think this is a bug. I'll see about getting it fixed.

Assuming HL calculates the base price is easy, you can just change
the value to 50% if you're creating it yourself. The reason we don't
have a control for "XP Spent" is that if you spend XP in this
fashion, there's no record of it - we think it's important to show
where your experience goes, so having it be spent with no record is a
bad thing. If you create a scroll, add a journal entry for the scroll
and subtract the amount of experience it cost you.

We could add a control that showed the amount of experience required
to create the scroll (or other magic item). Would that help?

Can Hero Lab write the journal entry for you when you create the magic item? Maybe add a checkbox for whether you want it to do this.

I do vote for showing the XP cost.

This is already something Colen and started discussing after the previous post. :-)

Yes, showing the XP cost wouldl be a great help. Also if you you could include how much time it would take to scribe the scroll(s), so when your GM asks how much time is the scribing going to take, I can tell him. Experience calculation and time calculation would be even better!!

I noticed this behavior remains unchanged as of V1.2a. Also, the caster level is not included in the Standard Character Sheet within the Gear section.

Thanks!

Sorry about that - we've been spending the last few weeks on tightening
up Hero Lab and adding capabilities to allow us to support other games.
I'll make sure this gets fixed in the next release.

Good idea, I'll add that to the list.

Thanks!
