I tried searching the forums, and didn't have any luck.
With the encounter builder, I know I can import critters, and basic contacts from the SR5 core book. Is there a way to import the stock Archetypes (Combat Mage, Brawling Adept, etc.) as a quick way to get a character started? Or to use them as NPCs? Or do I have to build each one basically, and save them all as an Archetype portfolio in order to use them? |

As far as I know you would need to build each one separately in a single archtypes portfolio. Wouldn't take too long to do though.

There is currently stock characters for them. I just havent got around to requesting that they compile them and put them in with the rest of the Encounter Builder stuff.
Also, please note that none of the Archetypes are Missions-Legal right out of the book. |

To get the sample PCs, use open portfolio option in the file menu. They're all there already.
To add them to an existing portfolio, you can use the Import Hero From Portfolio option in the Portfolio menu. |

Understood. That being said, sometimes you use the Archetypes as enemies. Can they also be added so that we can import them from the Encounter Builder?

Agonar, those are the ones you should be seeing if you choose Gamemaster...Show Encounter Builder.
To add one of these PCs to your portfolio, use Portfolio...Import Hero From Portfolio. |

I have searched my computer for any other instances of *.por files, and nothing comes up. However, if I do Portfolio > Import Hero from Portfolio, I then get a folder pop up. I can go to C: Program Data > Hero Lab > Data > Shadowrun5 > And I have the options I listed above. Core Rulebook Contacts.stock, Critters.stock, and Grunts.stock Selecting any of these just brings up a list of the contacts, critters, or enemies listed in the back. If the 16 pregenerated archetypes were supposed to be included, I am not finding them. I have no problem entering all of them, but thought I would save time and just import them if they were available, but they don't seem available in my copy of Hero Lab Either that, or they are located somewhere else, and I am just having no luck finding them. |

My archetypes are in the folder \Documents\Hero Lab\portfolios from within my user profile directory, if that helps.

Not sure why these didn't show up on my "*.por" search, but that is the directory they were in. Now I know where to find them in the future. |
