I'm just curious: Are you folks entering spells and other core rules (feats/classes/skills/etc) into realm works?
Or just world and adventure details? |

Some are and some are not.
I am waiting to see what will be available in the Repository and Marketplace. I expect that there will be official packages for several game systems, and I would prefer to wait and see what those look like before creating my own versions. If I don't like them, I can always make my own; if I do like them, I would want to ensure that my home-brew additions match the formatting and layout of the official packages so they work together smoothly. For the same reasons, I am limiting world information entered (for published worlds, anyway). I expect that, if all goes well, there will be data packages available for the world settings, and the adventures eventually. If I waited for everything, I'd be entering nothing and not using RealmWorks at all, so that's not an option. For now, entering the adventure information and the minimum required World information is my approach. |

I'm entering anything and everything, just the opposite of Silveras, but that's because I play RuneQuest 6 in the world of Glorantha, and as much as I'd love to have RW officially back it, I don't see it happening.

I'm entering everything as I go. Mostly this is because I am going to be playing the game long before LW publishes materials for it. I am, currently, preping a savage worlds horror game and am not expecting any support for SW from LW for a while yet. I imagine Pathfinder will get the most immediate support.

Im doign not rule specific things. So that way I can reuse my realm for different game systems.

For my Pathfinder realm, I am putting in no rules information as I want to see the official release. For my ICONS realm, I'm putting in rules and campaign information. Same with Twilight 2000.

For my Pathfinder Realm, I'm making hyperlinks to the the Pathfinder Reference Docs. I was copying each spell into its own article at first and then decided it was just easier to link it.

The setting is complete but since I know they are working on various settings now themselves they may need to change the format or other things I've done before they decide to make it available, but all of the main grunt work should be complete. So if both companies like what they see then hopefully we will have at least one Savage Worlds setting available relatively soon. (I don't want to say more since I don't know what agreements either company has in place or even if they definitely want to use what I've done, for that matter.) Just to illustrate another of many uses, in my Mechanics Reference I have:
* Various articles and other information on the art of GMing itself. * House Rules * Monsters, Spells and other contents not in the core books I use (usually found on the web) * GM 'Rulings' - situations where I've decreed things are different than the core rule books |

I do something similar myself with the Mechanics section... putting in 3PP material from sources that would never get in otherwise.
Also add a "HOUSE RULE" snippet under anything that has been house rule'd in the past. |
