Mounted Mastery

Hi! A question here:

One of my characters is a Cavalier level 11 and he has the Mounted Mastery level eighth special ability for the Order of the Sword. This should free him from any armor check penalty when using the Ride skill with his mount or any other mount. The problem is that in HeroLab he is still getting -6 to Ride from Armor and Shield. As this special ability is always in effect the program should ignore the penalty.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Thanks in advance.

Mounted Mastery (Ex): At 8th level, the cavalier ignores the armor check penalty when using the Ride skill, regardless of whether or not the creature he is riding is his mount. Whenever he makes a charge attack while mounted, he receives a +4 dodge bonus to his AC to avoid attacks set against his charge. When making such an attack, he can add his mount's Strength modifier to the damage roll, in addition to his own. He also receives a bonus feat, chosen from the following list: Mounted Combat, Ride-By Attack, Skill Focus (Ride), Spirited Charge, Trample, or Unseat. He must qualify for the feat selected.

I haven't checked but I assume its coded to only remove the ACP penalty when your actually mounted. Not when your just walking around. Have you gone to the "Condition" tab and set yourself to be mounted?

Did that remove the ACP penalty?

Thanks! That solved it.

This software can be so unnecessarily complicated sometimes... I mean, if you are not mounted, can you use ride? And even if you do you still ignore the armor penalty for that check because of this special ability.

Ah... nevermind.
Thanks again.

Nice!

I mean, if you are not mounted, can you use ride?
Well yes cause that would include Fast Mount actually. So you are not on the mount and need to make a Ride check. :)

And even if you do you still ignore the armor penalty for that check because of this special ability.
Yea I can easily see both sides but the person who coded it went with it only works when mounted. I think that is the spirit of the rule based on its name and stuff.
