Our plans for Ultimate Equipment and Paths of Prestige

Kit's from UE

Are the different kits going to auto populate their individual items into the character sheet when purchased or are they going to add like the Pathfinder's Kit already does and you have to manually add each item for free from it?

We have not had the time to build the mechanisms that are needed to improve the way kits work. The new kits from UE will work like the existing ones do.

THAT will probably be the hardest thing to implement!

If we give the squirrels running in their wheels any more caffeine, they will become "late" squirrels (yes, that's a Monty Python reference). And nobody wants that. We're working on UE as fast as we can.

To put things in perspective, the ARG entailed approximately *six months* of work, and we were able to get started close to three months prior to the release of the book. For Ultimate Equipment, we had barely one month of head start, and in the middle of that month was GenCon, which chewed up roughly two weeks (one week at the Con plus a few days getting prepped and another few getting caught up after return). So we started out in a deep hole with UE, and the book is even bigger than the ARG. :(

If I quoted you a timeframe, someone here (probably a full posse) would hang me from a meat hook. So all I can say at this point is that the squirrels are running as fast as they can, it's a monumental task, and we're making steady progress. The one thing I can guarantee at this point is that, if we don't have it done in the next two weeks, you'll get lots of details in the September newsletter that outline exactly where we're at with everything.

I wish I had more details than that, but I'd be lying if I said anything more definitive. :(

The good thing about this company is they do work very hard on the product.
The best thing is anything that is needed out of UE can be added by customers in the editor. I've already made several items I've needed. You can also add items with just description (custom item) and then add the effects with adjustments. Then when the real deal comes out, just swap it out.

More in regards to Paths of Prestige it was recently updated in a blog here. Just thought I would let you all know since I am sure you have not started on that yet and may be unaware.

Thanks. I had seen it, but it's still safest if you all point out things like this, too, in case we miss them.

Thanks for the honest assestment...it is a tough job convertingt text to program lingo, especially there is a lot to do.

And the sad thing is, they'll have probably gone through at least one round, if not two rounds of errata by the time you guys finish.

I disagree with this as Paizo is known to be super slow at putting out FAQ's and Errata. For most books it takes years and I do mean literately years to get Errata out for them. Some books like "Adventure's Armory" they eventually just give up on and then re-print the weapon rules totally differently in the next book.

This one time PoP they did it fast for the winter witch only because they are about to make a Huge AP that will feature it. Otherwise like normal the other PrC's will be a long long time before we see errata for them. :(

I like Paizo stuff but this is one sore spot for myself. So my group has 3 main people that are the "Rules" lawyers of the group and when we have a question they hash it out and decide on usually a fair answer and we go with that. I gave up waiting for Paizo for answers. :)

I know the errata thread on the Paizo boards for UE is several pages long already, but you have a point that that doesn't mean that Paizo will have official files quickly.

As I was looking through the UE book after I bought it a couple of weeks ago I saw several fantastic Rogue tools I wanted to add to my character. After buying the data package I'm noticing that several aren't appearing...the Glass Cutter for instance.

Is there an update coming to add the rest? Did some stuff just get missed?

Just curious. You guys go fantastic work, I'm very satisfied with everything you guys produce.

I fixed my issue...somehow I managed to unclick "Ultimate Equipment" in my configuration window. How I managed that I've no idea...

Did you save this character between when you downloaded the 7.0 update (last Monday's) and when you purchased UE? If so, Hero Lab recorded that the UE source was present, but not checked, and that setting was saved in your character.
