Army Builder Mac version Release date

Hi all.

Well the title already states my question. What are the release plans for the Army Builder Mac Version? Can I hope to be able to buy it anytime soon?

The Mac Beta is currently available for existing users and we're in the final stages of shaking out any remaining issues. My best guess for an official final release is in the next couple of weeks.

Hi, im wondering will the release be dealt with through the mac app store or will you continue to mange it through your own website?.

I seriosuly hope its the former as its a much neater system for managing the app across multiple systems and installing on new machine etc, i was dubious of it at first but have come to realise that software distribution has moved on and managed updates + having my activation tied to my itunes account is great.

and while im asking questions, can i ask if there is any hope of a new UI, obviously it hasnt changed its look in a very long time , while making adjustments to fall in line with apples design philosophy and guidelines an opportunity could be taken to bring it up to date with what is expected of an app visually these days.

waiting patiently to come back to army builder and fingers crossed when it arrives it brings an ipad version with it.

We'll be distributing AB through our own website and purchase system, just like the PC version. The Mac app store has a number of limitations for us - for example, it'd be really hard to let someone have one license that was used on both the PC and the Mac. As a result, we're keeping it simple and having everything work in a consistent way.

Other than mac-specific stuff like the menus being in a different place, the UI works exactly the same as the PC version, so if you're using AB on both platforms (or switching from one to the other) it'll be as easy to use as possible.

So, I may be wrong in reading this reply but are you saying 1 liscense wont work for a oc and a mac version? I just got my mac and have had the pc version for a few years, and not really wild about having to buy a new liscense. But i could be reading that wrong as well.

Hi. One license won't work on two different computers, but you don't need to buy a new license. You should request your free secondary license from within the Army Builder software. Open the License menu, and select Obtain Secondary License. That'll take you to our license admin server, and after you've logged on, you can request the secondary license. Keep your current license on your windows machine and use the free secondary license on your Mac (or vice-versa). If you've got any other questions, send me an e-mail.
