Shadowrun update!

FYI - after running into some hurdles with early development, we revised our initial estimate a while ago from "Q1" to "Spring" this year. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! :( I want this just as badly to use for GMing my Shadowrun game.

Is there a way to get a beta of this?

I'm seriously considering a purchase of HL 4e + Pathfinder (all mods) + Shadowrun 4e for a convention I run. The plan being to put it on 3 computers so people at the convention can manage their characters there.

Without it, I'm not sure if it's worth buying HL for the convention at all.

The convention is May 20-22, and I would need it before then.

Unless circumstances change, we will not be doing a public beta for Shadowrun.

We'll hopefully have it out by May 20th, but I can't make any guarantees on that yet. Sorry I can't be more help :(

So it will definately be out by May or a bit latter this Spring????
I believe the word they used is "maybe". *wry grin* I've worked with Lone Wolf. It's a small company and a setback can impact a lot of things. Also, the process of entering in a new system is a lot of work with many ways in which it can go sideways. Heck, even the data entry takes finite time... and there's finite resources, particularly with people like Colen bearing the bugs of all of the system on his shoulders.

I must say that Colen is a genius when it comes to Hero Lab.

I just seriously want to have Shadowrun and Pathfinder as well as 4e D&D for the convention I run. I think if I can demo all 3 systems on a single character builder application that when the portion of the 20,000+ people who come to Acen for RPGs see it, I think you'll see quite a few new sales.

Will the Shadowrun toolkit have a dice roller to help with calculating things like drain and/or wounds, etc? Any special combat manager functions for the tactical console with regards to Shadowrun's system?

anymore ive come to use Blizzard and Nintendo Legend of Zelda timing schemes for release dates. when a date is said add 3 months and then roll a d6 and add that many years. Anymore i jsut wish they wouldnt release any timeframes and wait till its 95 percent done to tell us anything.

Has there been any further information released regarding the Karmagen system? It should be fairly easy to implement, as you basically create a 0 BP character and then spend roughly twice the BP in karma to build the character.

For our group, this method creates rounder characters.

Any official comments on this would be appreciated.

Yes, we do plan to make the Karma and Priority generation systems available (the exact details aren't determined yet).

will this system have printable cards for weapons and equipment?

This is not planned for the initial release, but users will have the option to create custom output formats by creating XLSTs to arrange information about a character however they like - you could use that to generate the cards you want to see.

Shadowrun or the cash gets it.

May 20th has come and past. any update? I'm holding off on buying hero labs until it's released. You hear me. I'm holding a small amount of money hostage until you release the update. grrr.

I agree... I think if I had had Shadowrun data files at Anime Central that we'd have seen vastly more use of Herolab on the 3 PCs we used. Not that the PCs weren't heavily used anyway for Pathfinder and D&D 4e. I've got money held at gunpoint waiting to jump over and buy me Shadowrun as soon as it's available.

Please follow the link to the newsletter in Mathias' post a couple above yours for details.

*sigh* August now. My money is that it will slip again.
I know why, Shadowrun is a very detail oriented complex system compared to something like say... D&D 4e. I just wish whatever the real ship date will be was better estimated to start. My hopes have risen and been dashed several times now. :/

Have faith my friend. soon enough we'll be able to run a flawless multi-group shadowrun campaign, the likes of which Dunkelzahn himself didn't see coming.
