Version 5.0 of the Pathfinder files are now available!

Version 5.0 of the Pathfinder files for Hero Lab are now available from the automatic updates mechanism.

This update adds the Inner Sea World Guide, and makes it available to all of our users.

For the Pathfinder adventure paths, there's issues 42 and 43 and the Carrion Crown Player's Guide.

The Gunslinger has been updated to the Playtest round 2 version.

The NPCs from the NPC guide are now available - to find them, go to the Portfolio menu in Hero Lab, choose "Import Stock Hero", and you'll see three new stock portfolios in the list - "NPC Guide (Generic NPCs)", "NPC Guide (Named NPCs)" and "NPC Guide (Paizo Staff NPCs)". Most of these are available to all users, but in some cases, the NPC uses material from one of the packages - for example, a character named "Lord Achamair" is a sahaugin, so opening that portfolio will require the Bestiary package, in order to have the sahaugin race.

Here's the change list, copied from the FAQ:

New Releases!

  • Content from the Inner Sea World Guide is now available as a free update for all Pathfinder users!
  • Added NPCs from the NPC Guide! This is a free update for all Pathfinder users. You can find the new NPCs by choosing "Import Stock Hero" from the Portfolio menu.
Configure Hero Options Re-arranged

  • All deities other than the base 20 have been moved out of the Core Rulebook Deities option. Most can be found in both the Inner Sea World Guide and Gods & Magic options, or in the options for any books where the deity has been detailed. Note that since the Inner Sea World Guide and Gods & Magic options both include the base 20 deities, the Core Rulebook Deities option does not need to be selected if either of those is selected.
  • The Golarion Languages option was removed, and its contents transferred to the Inner Sea World Guide option.
Enhancements & Changes

  • Added content from the Inner Sea World Guide.
  • Added the Subdomains for the Void and Scalykind Domains from the 2/10/11 paizo blog.
  • Added Subdomains to the deities listed in the Inner Sea World Guide, as specified in the 2/17/11 paizo blog.
  • Instead of choosing human ethnicities as separate races, there is now only a single human race. On the background table, a table has been added for humans to let them select an optional Ethnicity. Existing characters with the Human (Chelaxian), Human (Varisian) and Human (Shoanti) races will continue to work as they did and do not need to be changed.
  • The d20pro exporter now outputs weapon damage types and custom magic weapon powers.
  • Added content from Pathfinder #42.
  • Added content from Pathfinder #43.
  • Added content from the Carrion Crown Player's Guide.
  • Updated the Gunslinger to the Ultimate Combat Playtest, Round 2 version.
  • Added the remaining Tiefling abilities from Pathfinder #25.
Bug Fixes

  • The Extra Channel and Improved Channel feats were reporting errors.
  • Creatures with no INT score no longer report errors because they have not taken all their languages (this could happen if the Zombie template was added to a race).
  • The War Paint of the Terrible Visage didn't have a cost or CL.
  • Many Oracle Mysteries were not adding bonus feats at the proper level to an Oracle/Rage Prophet.
  • The Petitioner templates were applying an incorrect set of good/poor saving throws.
  • Fixed the cost of the Robes of Xin-Shalast.
  • The Badger Animal Companion had a land speed of 0.
  • The Urdefan race was missing Weapon Focus: Rhoka.
  • Repeating Crossbows were not showing both the one-handed and two-handed attack stats on the printout.
Data File Authoring

  • Added an Epithet field for deities - this is used for any descriptive titles a deity has - "The Drunken Hero" for Cayden Cailean, or "The Savored Sting" for Calistria, for example. Text entered here will be added to the deity's description text above the alignment and portfolio.
  • Removed the Chelaxian Language - this was originally added in the Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide, but is not used in the Inner Sea World Guide and is no longer a bonus language for humans of the Chelaxian ethnicity.
  • Racial Custom Specials and Custom Abilities now have the option of setting a negative cost (so that they add to the number of normal choices available on the table they're added to) - this is used for the Animated Object flaws added in Pathfinder #43.
  • "Grit Points Remaining" has been added to the list of requirements that can be added to a Class Special when adding it to a class, in the "Other Req" button.

For those of you who are using files from d20pfsrd.org, you may not need some of those files any more.

Appear to be intended to bring the content from the 3.5 World Guide into Pathfinder, and now that the PRD version of the World Guide is available, they've become redundant.

Good point Mathias. I have removed the Languages and Ethnicities but plan to leave up the guns. As many have controversy over the new guns rules I can see groups/DMs that plan to use the older version from 3.5.

The problem is that I didn't think to check that guns file back when the Ultimate Combat playtest was released - both that file and the ultimate combat/ISWG versions of the pistol have the Id wPistol, and both have wMusket for the Musket, so that file doesn't even compile.

The ethnicities and languages files will at least compile with the current version of Hero Lab.

(Don't forget that there's also a Magus v2 file at d20pfsrd - that was obsoleted a few updates ago)

Thanks for checking. I have no access to my d20pfsrd Data set until I get home tomorrow. I updated the IDs of all the guns and scripts. So its again usable with the latest release. Maybe useful for some group so may as well leave it.

Removed.

Can we get the old version of the sawtooth sabre on the d20pfsrd?

James Jacobs said it was okay to houserule the old rules....

The file PFRPG_PC_AdventuresArmory_ArmWep.user has the Sawtooth sabre from the AA.

Otherwise creating weapons in the editor is very easy as it is simply a bunch of mouse clicks. No scripting should be required.

In the ISWG Humans(Varisian) should get Common and Varisian as default languages. I recently added the Varisian ethnicity to my character who had Common as her default, and Varisian as her bonus (Int) language. Adding the ethnicity option should free up the bonus language slot, but it doesn't. How do I add an additonal language for a high Intelligence.

Try deleting both the ethnicity and the language, then put back only the ethnicity - by adding the ethnicity when the language was already there, the copy of the language added by the ethnicity was merged with the copy added by the user, but the merged copy was still considered to have been something added by the user - and languages added by the user cost language slots.
