Pathfinder Bug Reports - Version 4.27

A couple little problems...

1st: When I first got my copy of Hero Lab I immediately plugged in an NPC I had on paper. That was before I found the "No Coin Weight" configuration setting. Being unaware of that setting and not wanting the weight of the NPC's substantial gold to be added to his weight, I "dropped it to ground" and saved the character and exited the application. A day or so later I was back in the program trying to learn more about the capabilities of the tool and found the "No Coin Weight" setting and thought, "what a neat idea." So, I reloaded my NPC and the heading shows his wealth, but it is no longer under "Gear" -- "Dropped to Ground" is empty.

2nd: (Very minor issue. Mostly just FYI) I used the Hero Lab Editor to create a Wand. The pop-up help prompt for Cost says, "Enter the cost of the staff in gold." Probably a copy/paste kind of error.

Actually, that money pick is simply a placeholder that looks up how much cash the hero has and uses that to compute its weight - until there's a way to split that up into various sets, so that you can say that 100gp is on your character and the rest is in the bank (so that the weight of the money you are carrying is properly reflected on your character), the way "No Coin Weight" actually works is to prevent that placeholder from being generated (and therefore prevent that placeholder from calculating its weight), which is why you see that it's now missing.

(In the meantime, the Custom Valuable item (at the top of the gear to purchase) can be used to represent the coins your character is carrying with you - buy it for the amount of money you're carrying, then enter the proper weight (0.02 lbs/coin)).

Thanks for the report on the cost text for wands, I've fixed that for the next udpate.

Druid - Boon Companion

Feat does not seem to affect the level of the animal companion.

Example:
Pegasus Druid 2 - 4 racial HD, 2 druid HD

pre-Boon companion the animal companion has 3 HD, post Boon companion has 3 HD (should be 6)

a) Thorn Body (APG p248 Druid 4th level spell) lists a DC, but the spell doesn't have a DC?

b) Moment of Prescience isn't allowed to be memorized by a cleric of irori as allowed in Gods Magic p23. Jonas pointed out another spell ("Thorn Blade") with a similar problem. I couldn't find a previous reference to this issue other than Jonas. I'm posting this since there are a number of these special cases, and handling them all at once is best?

c) Amulet of Might Fists Guides doesn't work, it produces 6 errors:
Attempt to access field 'wAttBonus' that does not exist for thing 'iAmMightFs'
Twice on line 7, 10, and 11 each.

d) I had a player build a PC with some stuff, that I couldn't figure out where it came from (it was one of the ones I listed as SRD below) and HL allowed him to take it. So I built this list of things that appear to be allowed when the source isn't checked. I've got comments below this list also.

Monk of the Empty Hand, Zen Archer, Urban Ranger, One-Way Window (APG)
Academy Graduate, Arena Blood, Child of Shadow, Knack for Magic, Merchant Tongue, Steadfast Loyalty, Student of Nature, Suspicious Eye, Water Rat (Savage Tide)
Ability Focus, Awesome Blow, Craft Construct, Empower Spell-Like Ability, Flyby Attack, Hover, INArmor, INA, Multiattack Multiweapon Fighting, Quicken Spell-Like Ability, Snatch, Wingover, All races (Bestiary I/II)
Wooden Armor (APG)
Shoanti War Paint Black (Pathfinder 10)
Oculus of Abaddon (Pathfinder 33)
Eyes of Petrification, Gauntlets of Incredible Dexterity, Magi Staff of the Necromancer, Shrouds of Disintegration (SRD? or other?)
Sliding Axe Throw (Dwarves of Golarion)

There doesn't appear to be a check (source) for some of the pathfinder things like #10 and Savage tide, so no way to exclude that material?
The allowing of Bestiary races and feats isn't that big of a deal, it just is inconsistent with the other books like (APG.)

Not all of these report where they are sourced in the text, especially the ones I've listed under SRD. A number of those I couldn't find what book they appear.

e) Robes of Xin-Shalast (Pathfinder #6) wrong price (99000) when it should be 198000.

f) Hard to fix?
Customized NPC's with trackers (like Improved Iron Will) leave the tracker when grayed out (and they no longer have the feat.) Example Great Wyrm Red Dragon, customize, don't add Improved Iron Will, tracker still there.

g) Not a bug?
More than 20 Levels in a class errors out instead of just "not progressing"
Example Great Wyrm Red Dragon with class levels (5 levels) or Sorcerer would have 24 levels of sorcerer for the spellcasting purpose. But it errors out. (Access out-of-bounds matrix index 20.0 for matrix field cCastTot)
It's fine if this is labeled "not a bug" since technically 21st level + is epic and there are no epic rules. But when building encounters for level 18-20 PC's I had to have post 20 CR monsters.

h) Dragon Spell Resistance doesn't count added CR from additional levels (like Sorcerer) like Bestiary p91 suggests. I guess the other RAW interpretation is the SR is just 11+CR of the dragon race and doesn't change if his CR is higher due to other templates, classes, etc.
If so, then this is "not a bug"

The Oracle Battle Mystery Resiliency works for the oracle but if I take it with battle prophet it doesnt give me the free diehard feat

does that make sense

Repeating Heavy Crossbow seems to add properly in the builder, but when trying to print off a character sheet it does not add all the bonuses. It is like it is only calculating it being equipped with one hand, even though in the builder both hands are selected.

On the character in question all ranged attacks are +6, but for the repeating heavy crossbow they are +2 on the character sheet only. In the builder it properly shows +6 when equipping with both hands.

I can provide the character file if required to show this error.

I was attempting to make a dragon character to be an enemy of my PCs' party. It didn't go well. What concerns me is the "missing sources!" messages. I took screen shots of the following indicators of problems:

Is this something I can fix? Do I need to buy another data package? Or, is this a bug?

When you click through that message, does the dragon have a race selected? If so, then you own the needed sources, and I've accidently added an extra requirement that shouldn't be there. In the meantime, just click through the messages and you shouldn't have a problem. If not, that means you don't own the package that the race came from (these Dragons came from the Bestiary).

I have the Bestiaries (1 & 2). The dragon has a race: that of the dragon I selected -- Dragon, White, Wyrm. But, I get a lot of conflicting messages. For example: on the Background page I'm told to select 3 more starting languages, but on the pop-up dialog to select languages they're all listed as invalid.

FYI: Under the description of the feat "Stunning Assault" it reads: "You powerful but imprecise..." probably should be "Your powerful but imprecise..."

Also, on the "Classes" tab, under the top section labeled "Class Levels", the HP column seems to be designed for only 2-digit values. At higher levels, when the (N)PC has a hundred or more hit points, all three digits aren't visible during editing. The most significant digit scrolls off to the left when entering values.

Another one: On the "Background" tab, under "Factions" is bold text saying "Add Factions", but I have the "Use Factions/Backgrounds" setting deselected on the "Configure Hero..." screen.

+1 I have a Druid 4/Barbarian 3 with a Lion AC. Should be 7, but it just stays at 4.

HERE

Clarification on PFS allowance for Bestiary feats.

They are allowed if allowed by a legal source, but never allowed in any other way.

So they are allowed for Animal Companions (well INArmor and INAttack) because Core p53 allows them. They are allowed for a PC for Natural Warrior Ranger (INAttack/Multiattack) and for Eagle Shaman Druid (Flyby Attack)

New poster, not sure if this should even go here.. But I'm trying to use the Traits and Flaws during character creation, but my "Flaws" don't seem to work. It tells me that I need to add up to 2, but when I click on it, it says "Nothing to choose from!" in a little pop-up. However, my friend is able to choose it fine. I've been able to circumvent it by adding the Flaw in as an Adjustment, but I'd like to have a permanent fix. Anyone have any ideas?

There are no flaws in Pathfinder.

I think you can add some to your own datafile, but it's up to a GM if they want to add that aspect.

Might want to check the minor and major powers for Intelligent magic items. I just started building one, and I see spot/search as choices on the minor powers list. :)

I would have thought so too.. We even told him that it didn't work, and he swore up and down that it did on his. We didn't believe him and thought he was seeing something different... right up until he posted this screen cap of him using Flaws:
XTRvQ.png

Sorry it's so small- it's from our Facebook group for our game group, and I had to Print Screen that since Facebook's image system is all weird these days...

I honestly don't think he took the initiative to load them in himself, and we can't figure out why he's got them and we don't.

As mentioned their are no Flaws in Pathfinder. Their is however flaws in 3.5 specifically the Unearthed Arcana.

To get those flaws to show you need to activate two options under the "Configure Your Hero" (Character->Configure Your Hero...) window.

Prior SRD Content->Open Content from Unearthed Arcana
Optional Rules->Use Traits & Flaws

As mentioned their are no Flaws in Pathfinder. . .

Regardless of what you think, Hero Lab seems to think there are flaws in Pathfinder. I'm being prompted to add Flaws (as per the screen shot below)...
PilbertFeats.png

... but when I click on "Add New Flaw", all flaws include the text "Flaws are only available to starting characters." (See screen shot.)

Another minor peculiarity: I created an NPC monster so I could beef him up in Hero Lab. Under the Gear section, Hero Lab tells me that my Giant Ant Lion has an Artisan's Outfit. Of course you could argue that my giant Ant Lion might plausibly have a collection of Traveler's outfits, Musician's outfits, etc. from the various unfortunate people he's eaten. But still...

Are you sure this shouldn't have been called a beta test release of Hero Lab?
