"Large" Issue

So, we made some characters that are Large. (Large Orcs, to be exact.)

We accomplished the large part by doing the Size Category +1 under the Adjust tab.

However, when we went to do weapons, ...and made them Large... the system makes the use BOTH hands, not the 1st/2nd they should be. It's like the weapon system doesn't recognize that the characters are Large.

Any help?

You'd probably be better off making a custom race by copying the Orc and changing the size (and possibly some attributes).

Just tried this really quick to make sure and when you use that adjust all the weapons changed size to Large already. So a 1d8 battleaxe was suddenly doing 2d6 damage.

If you then went to increase the size of the weapon you made them HUGE size or one size larger than your current size. So by normal rules a battleaxe must be wielded in two hands not one then.

They did not. Weapons were doing 1d8 (for the scimitar), not the 2d6 it should. The weapons were doing MEDIUM damage, not Large.

When I make them LARGE they need both hands, do 2d6 damage and have a "L" next to their name. When they are Medium they they do 1d8 damage and have no size indicator next to their name.

If you give the character a medium weapon, then add the size category, the damage for the battleaxe increases to 2d6 and allows the weapon to be equipped in either or both hands. If you add the size category then add the battleaxe, the damage is 3d6, and it forces you to epuip in both. The problem with using the size category adjustment is that the creature, weapons, armor, etc are all still medium. The adjustment is only a temporary change, similar to one you would get with Enlarge Person or the like. Therefore, when you equip a "large" weapon on a "medium" creature, it requires the use of both hands, even if the creature has the size adjustment. That's why it would be better to make a custom race that is large to begin with.

Scimitars are 1d6 for Medium sized creatures. For large they do 1d8. For huge they do 2d6.

Going by what you have for Scimitar values you are making them HUGE and putting them on size Large creatures. So going by normal pathfinder rules that will make them 2 handed weapons.
