Module Support?

Thanks for all the new updates and the great content, guys. Hero Lab is making running my Pathfinder games SOOOO much easier!

That said, I'm wondering if you will be able to provide support for modules in the future?

I've been trying to code in items and monsters for the modules that I'm running, but adding more data like that takes up time that I'd rather be spending on prepping other stuff to run the modules.

I'd ask around to see if anyone has put together data packages for specific modules, but unfortunately, since you guys are the only ones with the license to provide Pathfinder support, I'm concerned about violating Paizo's IP rights.

I'd love to see official data sets for the modules and adventure paths that actually include the new monsters and OGL templates they use in the adventures.

If you find that you are able to take the Pathfinder support in a new direction in the future, please consider that option.

Thanks, again!

I know some folks are working on this for Pathfinder, but nearly all of the source books are available for purchase. For any user created content, a few folks are working their way through the adventure paths now.

A big problem with the adventure paths is that Piazo didnt use Pathifnder materials when they made them up. the monsters and NPCs are always referring to D&D books as their source. with that in mind you cant create most of the NPC and monsters without incurring errors. i have gotten to the poit where i'm just going to leave the errors and the GMs will just have to understand why they are there.

All of Paizo rules fall into the OGL and CUP. So as long as you don't charge for it you are fine. Technically you are not suppose to use IP names like Sarenrae or NPC names but its not really an issue.

So if input the monsters/NPCs for any Paizo module feel free to share. I can easily post the zip file to the d20pfsrd site. Their is already plenty of AP stuff showing up.

As cheifweasel said their will be error in the stat blocks. It happens as paizo is human and will make mistakes. Most that I have seen is too many of skills, feats, spells, and spells per days. Some monsters will have to be custom created first in the editor and then finally built as a character to round out any weapons or equipment.

Though the humanoid NPCs should go pretty quickly.

Thanks, guys.

I've already purchased every available data package for Hero Lab. The Adventure Path content is okay, but as far as I can tell, it only includes information from the players' guides.

I know what you mean about some of Paizo's sources. Even the newer modules and adventure paths often refer to creatures and templates from Green Ronin's books or from the "Tome of Horrors" series of books. I tried to do some creatures from the "City of Golden Death" but got stumped a while back when I tried to create the "terror creature" template. I might try to go back and start again, now that I'm a bit more comfortable with certain things.

Currently, I'm working on conversions for "Crown of the Kobold King" which I know a few people have been working on, already.

So far, I've done my version of the Forge Spurned and the three new magic items, but I still have some work to do on both the heartripper blade and the Crown of the Kobold King.

I do fine with basic input, but there are some pretty specific things these creatures and items do that require scripting to get right.

I'd love to be able to modify the Forge Spurned undead creature so that I can track how many souls it has in its "Soul Chain" and have the program automatically calculate the associated bonuses it grants the creature. (The chain is treated as a magical weapon with a +1 bonus for every 10 souls the forge spurned has collected. It also grants a +2 armor bonus for every 10 souls.) I'm sure there's a way to use a special tracker, but haven't had time to figure out how that works.

Similarly, I need to figure out how to "upgrade" the heartripper blade from a +1 dagger to a +2 flame burst dagger when it's been used in a sacrifice. Ideally, I'd like to be able to check a box or do something similar to change the status of the weapon.

EDIT: I found the coding information on how to add a sorcerer level when the crown is equipped, so I'm good there.

Once I'm happy with these things, I'll be happy to share them, if I can.

I guess my main thing is that it takes me a long time to get the program to do what I want it to do. To a certain extent, I do enjoy the challenge of learning the program's scripting, but I'd much rather be using the program to create characters and run my games with them. I don't want to sound lazy or greedy, but I'd much rather have someone else do the programming. ;)

Still, I appreciate the support, here. I'd never be able to figure out some of this stuff on my own, so I'm grateful that I can come to you smart folks for help.
