Choosing character proficiencies 5e AD&D

As the title suggests I am trying to designate character proficiencies.

I have selected them in the 'Adjustments' tab but on the character output they are not showing as having the prof bonus on the character sheet.

I am likely overlooking something obvious but at the moment it looks like a glaring oversight?
 
Are these extra proficiencies, not covered by their class, race, or background? Anything provided by those would be selectable in the appropriate tab.
