Snippets or "story boards" (with an image) to show a hierarchy of characters

I would often like to include a snippet inside of a topic or in a interactive (like the story board) treeview, that allows me to display organisational structures including a thumbnail / image of chosen size.

If implemented well it could be very useful when building an adventure!

More like a Visio chart (bubbles and lines/arrows) than a tree control.

The closest equivalent at present would be to insert a chart as a graphic and put pins on it. Second is to just use a Plot, but that leaves the Topic/Article completely.

You can model simple things like that with relationships. The relationship viewer is not the most pleasing tool in RW but its there.

If you have Visio or some other mind mapper I'd use that and then simply get an image of the pic you want and load that into RW.

Parody: exactly what I think, the plots are already there :P A bit modified and they could serve that purpose as well.

I don't know often I found relationships getting out of hand to quickly. A chart with an overview in one place could be more useful I believe.

Using Mindmapper or similar tools is of course a viable workaround.

Storyboards are great for managing npcs. It's what i primarily use the feature for.

I have looked around for a family tree program that would do a better job of visually modelling NPC relationships than RW does and while I've found several they're all fairly expensive and I haven't been willing to spend money on something I want for such a niche use.

Legacy Family Tree at https://legacyfamilytree.com/ has a Standard Version that is free to download and might give you what you need. I have an older version but it's the deluxe version, so not sure what the standard one gives you, but it is free and might be worth checking out if you haven't done so already.
